I'll take him over Bosa.
He had 163 tackles in two years. That's unusual for a defensive lineman. I'm thinking Crawford didn't hold up too well at DT so they are going to move him back to SDE which creates a need at 3T.
He is not a DE in our scheme. His tape shows absolutely no ability to bend the corner, and no pass rush moves whatsoever. Maybe he's a 3-tech. But we a starter in Crawford there, and Buckner's mirror-image in David Irving backing him up. I'd be beyond pissed if he's our pick at 4.
If Buckner's hand usage was as good as Bosa's with those long arms he'd be dangerous. Maybe they think they can coach that up and figure he has more potential?
Show me bad tape. I dare you
His tape is not "bad". It is just you have to do a lot of digging for the splash plays that make you say "that's a top five player right there".
Take a look at Conklin beat him up for a good part of their game together and you may see what is meant.
I see why people like him, but it is mostly projection. Then some take that and over blow it.
He has the raw tools, but he will need to time and a good situation.
How many players have you watched in this draft class and said "that's a top 5 player"? Honest question, because I don't really see any besides maybe Ramsey. And even his playmaking ability is absent in college. Like I said, Buckner isn't my #1 option and I didn't see myself coming to this conclusion at all a month ago. But what else is there?
Ramsey and Elliot. Which is what our board should be.
You're opinion is irrelevant until I see bad tape. Still waiting on that
The interest from VR is no joke; him or Ramsey will be the pick unless we receive an offer to trade down that's good to pass up.
Dude, I played college football and have probably forgotten more about watching game tape than you'll ever know. You want to see bad tape, watch his whole game against Mich St. Invisible.
