It doesn't matter who JJ hires because we all know he's going to be a "Yes" man. The likes of the Tuna and Johnson are long gone while Jerrah is the GM.

I mean, we pretty much have no clue how things will work out either way. Hot shot assistant? No clue. College coach? No clue. Safe retread? No clue. Old legendary coach? No clue. Pay a first for coach that has won before. No clue.

I mean, Andy Reid was kicked out of Philly and now he's a legend I guess. Did anyone know anything about Sean McWay before the Rams hired him? Okay, I'm sure some of you did. But that is no different from all the other hot shots that tried and failed.

So if you want to complain about JJ because he's the common thread here, okay. But no one knows anything at all about which coach will work or not. And if you think no coach will work, I guess that's fair too. But at the end of the day, hire whomever for all I care. I'll still watch and see what happens.
jerry is clueless. even this coaches hiring, is a circus, and has all the media attention and its exactly what he wants. I mean he wants to hire witten and that was a condition for MM to have him on staff and MM said, I had enough of this crap. I rather be unemployed. and now this coach, that coach. and some we know don't have it. Moore, just doesn't have the presence to manage older coaches, and not be run over by Jerry. he is a good, gosh, oh golly gee, kind of person. not a strong personality. so some of the coaches have good history and accomplished. so fans may know those who most probably will fail (law of probabilities) and those who can succeed or have a better chance (again law of probabilities). some coaches won't even come here (i.e. Ben Johnson, who said he has to be aligned with the GM, which here it won't happen).

plus Jerry doesn't want to pay much for a coach, so forget the hot coaches (again, law of probability for success). he wants to minimize coaching cost (as he said, there is coaches dead money).

its turned cowboys into a freaking circus...

It’s really quite simple: Thirty years of bad decisions by the oldest and most unaccountable GM in NFL history. What could possibly go wrong with that formula?

Oh stop.

This dude was dumped by 9 teams before Dallas.

He’s not qualified.
Facts
But just for arguments sake
Jimmy was an unproven nfl coach who’s hire pissed most of us off
Belichick was fired by the Browns before quitting the jets and joining the pats
Carrol had a ok time in New England before winning with USC then Seattle

Now I agree that Shotty probably not a good hire at all - but also not sure Deion would be or Pete or Boy Blunder Km or Kingsbury
Heck our main issue will still exist
The Clown Show Circus and its version of PT Barnum in the Jones boys /
Bottom line whomever gets the gig
Allot of luck will have to take place to break the 30 year drought

Im a monkey and I copy others...what are my eyes for if not to try and learn environments around you...then the rug gets pulled and youre called "monkey see monkey do....we set you up....lol...rawww...."

lame behavior...

anyway...what has Witten done? Anyone...Bueller?

Is Witten a creative x and o's guy? I assume he has some motivation to him.

But Jerry seems to be following a "I see Dan Campbell doing it, let me get my HOF tight end to do it"

I dont get it.

It takes me back to like 15 years ago when the whole combine/scouting stuff became popular....and Jerry ripped off a scouting buzzword to sound like a football guy....does anyone remember Jerry getting laughed at for saying the draft prospect player had a "juicy butt" or something like that.

as if...scouts are looking at the size of a guys buttocks or thumbs to evaluate and project a player.

maybe im getting played and Jerry is on to something in some other universe....im saying that in my universe...this was a bit weird.

I dont get the Witten stuff unless someone can explain it to me. I heard murmurings a few years ago the school he coached at is like being a coordinator for the Detroit Lions...easy-peasy.

What is Witten bringing?

Remember Dez tweeting about nepotism. The hiring of Brian is what he is taking about. Coaches son reminds me of the Shula kid. I will say this it won’t be a learning curve and he knows the players. Hopefully he will have good assistant coaches. I doubt if Zimmer returns however.

Andy Reid was one of the best coaches in NFL when Philadelphia fired him

Everyone know about McVay when the Rams hired. He had been one of the most sought after coordinators to come around in a long time
Some in the local media wanted the Cowboys to hire Reid when he got fired. I think Jerry thought McCarthy could have been like Andy was for KC.

Do you even have to ask this question the fan base will be bent out of shape no matter what move is made it doesn't matter if it's coaching free agency the draft I mean anything said on the Internet anything reported if it's got the Dallas Cowboys name on it somebody's angry about something all the time there been out of shape that's all most of you all are coming here to vent....

So the answer would be yes no matter who's hired who the staff gets filled out some large part of our fan base will be bent out of shape I can answer for most of everyone around here because I see it they're all gonna be bent out of shape...

So, everything you've said there is correct....now can you see why we have to suffer in 2025 (for the longer term good).
A coach that's a 'yes man', a poor roster, with holes in pretty much every area, question marks over the health of our QB and second injury to two of our better defensive players.
There is no way any decent FA will be coming down south whilst this is going on....get the circus started, the sooner we start, the sooner we can shoot the clowns out of the Big Top.

You can call his journey nepotism if you want, but if he is hired, it has nothing to do with nepotism. He isn't under consideration because he's Marty's son.
