Why are we in a rush to sign Dak?

So by that logic you'd keep a Kirk Cousins because he puts up decent figures but'll never take a team any further (I'll have to spell this out for you as you're prone to misinterpretation....I am not comparing the players). You have to cut your loses if that player (AS GOOD AS HE MAY BE) isnt going to get you there, maybe due a flaw which he cant overcome.

The 2024 draft is supposedly a very good QB class (better than this years).
A quarterback who has started for ten years in the NFL should be capable of adequate leadership at the head of an offense. I refuse to believe that the NFL is a stupidly run sport.

That's an idea, but how does Dallas move up high enough to grab a very top quarterback where they will be after winning another 12 games?

who is concerned? a question is not a concern.

Dak played bad. those interceptions were awful. and OL played decent not great. I think losing Pollard changed the complexion of the game. we know Dak is not elite and he needs the right support around for us to succeed. without pollard, it allowed SF to drop more into coverage and a WR unit that was already not performing, played even worse. the choice was either CD or nobody else was able to do anything. Dak failed. Gallup Failed. Schultz failed. why do you have trouble saying that others on the team played bad?

I don't care about the extension. before I argued we should have given him a contract sooner and not allowed ourselves to get into the franchise tagging. it would have cost a lot less and we would have been in better position to move on if we wanted. Jerry screwed up the negotiations over a couple of million a year, eventually ending up paying 5 times that extra. now, we should wait before we extend, given where the team is today. but we also have to have a plan for replacing Dak, which we don't look like we do. so what's the plan if not Dak?
You and others spend a lot of time pointing out Dak’s successes to those of us that criticize or harp on Dak’s shortcomings. This thread was about whether Dak should be extended now or wait to see what the season brings. I was in the-do not extend Dak camp even after his rookie contract expired.

The team can win games and score points even with Cooper (not sure I can throw it more than 30 yards) Rush. The team does not need an exceptional or even above average QB to win against the also rans and cruddy teams.

The OL played about as well against that front as a line can. Gallup failed? Was he dropping passes all game? I noticed at least 3 different times on film he was open and was not targeted. He was wide open on the potential TD play. Half yard separation is open in the NFL. Some QB’s can put together drives even against great defenses-and without 2-3 elite weapons. Schultz was terrible that game (no issues saying that). Zeke played like a guy that is old (but he did block well and offered a target on short patterns).

The 49ers have excellent coverage linebackers-which presents the most problems for Dak. He loves short-intermediate tight end passing areas in the middle or seams-flats. Comeback and hook routes are his literal favorites. They were sitting on some of those routes and have the personnel to pirate the play.

It’s true. Troy Aikman is still in decent shape. Get the guy a contract and let’s do this thing.

That's the beauty of the 2024 class, there's quality and quantity.

Use resources and be creative. May have to part ways with a very good player (such as Diggs) to swap spots with another club in the first round. Possibly another very good player to move some more. Then use future first, second, third rounders to move the rest of the way. This is assuming the Cowboys repeat the previous season success.

Do you mean Cousins, because Dak's heading into his 8th year and their career Comp% and Ratings are remarkably similar.

Can't follow your own standard for responses, huh. 10 was a number for a point for comparison. Now to make this responsive to your last addition...you don't think that Dak Prescott survives two more seasons presently and the objections used right now thrown out the door? I guess all that matters then is a non-connected stereotype of no required objectivity and remove player respect from immediately affecting quality of discussion? Oh, you bet, guy...

Sure, jerk out all fan credability up and down the entire chain of command then.

Naw, I'm looking for Jerry Jones to file a charge of corruption for Dez Bryant's completed pass being overturned and the Green Bay win by a point be overturned and awarded to Dallas. The Player's Union will also file a charge to recover team funds not received then because of the illegal call.

But I know what the real problem is, all disgruntled fans are awaiting for their own 'immaculate reception' which would be like Mary visited by an Angel. Instead of jargon for an immaculate deception.

Maybe we can even bring back Madden to add his comments...

Teams do it. KC did it with Alex Smith. SF is currently doing it with Jimmy G. Sometimes to take a major step forward requires a team to make tough decisions. Fan sentiments thrown out the door.

what!? once again you are arguing with youself.

if you don't have a sembelence of a plan, then you have nothing. lets cut Dak tomorrow. now what!?

and supposedly.....wait for the 2024 college season to at least playout. lets see how many good ones there maybe, and where we land. I don't want to draft a QB, jsut for sake of drafting a QB. if its most likely to be just like what we have. what's the sense in that? it has to be improvement over what we have.

ahh, you are now into bundling (perhaps you work for progressive!).....

I didn't defend or point out the successes. I asked questions and subsequently didn't subscribe to the mindset that everything singularly is one person's fault. then you and others (see how it works) like to call that defending and pointing out successes.

so you think that rushing 48 yards with your RBs is an OL playing well? Dak rushed for 22 out of broken plays, scrambling. you think that's acceptable play? in the meantime they rushed for 105 yards....then by that measure, their OL was exceptional

and any Dak thread tends to meander to all kinds of things, regardless of what it started as.
I had said as much, that we shouldn't extend.

and btw, your Rush Crush had the offense average in the 20s across almost all statistical categories including scoring. so no, the team couldnd't score with rush. the defense holding the other team down and scoring helped us. it was painfully obvious Rush fell apart. got lucky against Rams with defenses gifting them 9 points. the wheels came off against Philly. if you think he is the answer, then sorry you are clueless. no need for further discussions.

KC now has Reid as it's head coach. A team just shouldn't sign a player that he let's go. Your meaning? You throwing out the baby with the after birth?
