We drafted Lawrence with the 34th pick and Mo in the top of the first. Lee was drafted in the second and Jones at safety in the late first round. Is it that we dont know what we are doing or are these players not living up to expectations? Mo looked like a steal when we drafted him and stayed hurt his entire time in dallas.

The scheme certainly isn't doing us any favors, either. Look at what coaches like McVay can do for undermanned teams. Their schemes are able to make up somewhat for any lack of talent.

Our coaches schemes are the opposite - they need elite talent simply to produce average results. At that point, what good are the coaches?

They haven’t invested a lot in the defense and some of the investments have failed (Byron Jones and Jaylon Smith). There is a reason a lot of us did not like the Zeke pick. Had a chance to add an impact defensive player.

1. We haven't had 2 good safeties playing at once since 2003.

2. We've never been good at switching up coverages or disguising blitzes.

3. We are typically poor at defending in between the numbers and usually struggle against either TE's or RB's which are easier throws.

Lots of easy throws and easy reads we give up to Quarterbacks.

For one thing, we're running an outdated scheme. It's passive by nature, "bend but don't break" garbage. Guys who left this year have suddenly become playmakers elsewhere. I wonder why?

A guy like Rodgers has to be literally laughing at the prospect of facing this type of scheme. He can truly and easily pick it apart at will with almost no effort.

We havent put enough resources into it. We had a chance to take Jalen Ramsey. We went with a RB. We had a chance to take Myles Jack, we took some guy that really can't play due to injury. We had a chance to take TJ Watt, we took a guy named Taco. Fans could do a better job drafting defense than our FO. No doubt in my mind I could. We have to draft defense early and often.

I would much rather play an aggressive risk taking D

I hate the passive death by a thousand cuts

We have a great offense and I want the ball...... letting the other team take a whole quarter on one drive sucks....... get some turnovers in man to man

Need a D coordinator that fights for players in draft and Free Agency . Rod is too nice. Too much $ going on offense.

I think there is enough talent at this point for them to at least have a decent defense. It will never be dominant but it should not be so easy for a QB to just sling the ball around. Look at the KC Chiefs right now...with Berry out, it's not like they are loaded at every position on defense. They have Justin Houston and Marcus Peters, who are probably some of the best at their position but the other 9 guys aren't superstars or high 1st round picks.

This. We have enough talent to at least be middle of the pack. There is no reason in the world for this defense to be WOAT level with even halfway decent coaching.
