This guy was available too
For all who keeps saying we haven't spent enough resources on defense, take a closer look at the top draft picks we used on both offense and defense in the JG era.
Code:Number of draft picks used in top 3 rounds since 2011 Round: Offense: Defense: 1 4 3 2 1 6 3 3 4
As you can see, we've actually spent more top picks on defense in the JG era.
Yeah..It's already time to replace Williams and Dez isn't far behind...
Yeah..
so now we have about 15 guys on our 22 starters need replacing?
Good luck with that.
We drafted Lawrence with the 34th pick and Mo in the top of the first. Lee was drafted in the second and Jones at safety in the late first round. Is it that we dont know what we are doing or are these players not living up to expectations? Mo looked like a steal when we drafted him and stayed hurt his entire time in dallas.
You are spot on, if you look at other teams, no no one is loaded at every position. At some point you have to begin to look at the coaching, or lack there of.I think there is enough talent at this point for them to at least have a decent defense. It will never be dominant but it should not be so easy for a QB to just sling the ball around. Look at the KC Chiefs right now...with Berry out, it's not like they are loaded at every position on defense. They have Justin Houston and Marcus Peters, who are probably some of the best at their position but the other 9 guys aren't superstars or high 1st round picks.
I'm starting to second guess letting McClain go.for me the Defense starts at DT position. Too many big runs right up the gut. If you can't stop that rarely will things go well. I am not seeing Malik Collins anchor well on running plays. He gets pushed sideways too easily. I really think Dallas just has to succumb here and get massive immovable DT. I no longer care if he can't shot the gap just be difficult to run on. The RDE are not containing the edge which exposes our poor LB play recently. I also think we are in the territory of talking about new DC.
Can you throw in Randy Gregory tooTake a look at my post that's immediately after yours.
Sure they are drafting defensive players, but they are taking too many unnecessary risks. Take last year for instance. There were plenty of other healthy defensive players that could be helping us right now but instead they chose to roll the dice on Jaylon Smith. He missed all of last year and he looks horrible this year. So basically we're throwing away 2 years on the guy.
You can also go back to Byron Jones. He was an average player in college. I watched him play. There was nothing special about his game at all. But for some reason the Cowboys fooled themselves into believing he was one of the better DBs on the board.
We run a scheme figured out 20+ years ago... that's why...We drafted Lawrence with the 34th pick and Mo in the top of the first. Lee was drafted in the second and Jones at safety in the late first round. Is it that we dont know what we are doing or are these players not living up to expectations? Mo looked like a steal when we drafted him and stayed hurt his entire time in dallas.
Church had a pick-6 today for a TD so he never did that with Dallas I don't think. The problem is Marinelli has his scheme any tries to make the players he has fit into the scheme and philosophy what he should do is look at the Players he has and then making all new scheme just for those players. For one thing, we're running an outdated scheme. It's passive by nature, "bend but don't break" garbage. Guys who left this year have suddenly become playmakers elsewhere. I wonder why?
The price of tea in China is 100 Yen per gram.Last time I checked there are two halves in a football game.

I really wish Broaddus was right and Marinelli would have left to be Lovie Smith’s DC after 2014.
