Dak may not be garbage but it sure seems like he turns into garbage at the absolute worst times.
This is precisely the problem Sarge.

Dak plays well enough to allow his Super Fans to brag on him.

Dak also plays terrible enough for his Super Critics to rag on him.

And I don't mean those "well " 'hommes throws in the dirt too" rare-ish plays. I mean plays like throwing it out of bounds on 3rd down very late in the game when you need to run clock or make them burn a TO - head scratching plays.

The pendulum swing is very wide with Dak. He earns both credit and criticism. It's not "hate".

Stats are used to draft players, stats are used to negotiate contracts, stats are used for incentives, stats are to create roster positioning, and most of all.... stats are used to induct players into the NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Now for all those who continue to lie and act like stats don't matter.... tell me which one of those statistical categories I've listed above doesn't matter?

Apparently they matter to the Hall of Fame committee, coaching staff, scouts, GMs and owners.
Stats . . . stats . . . stats . .

With regard to stats, sure, Dak may be in the top 10 in a lot of categories. Sometimes however you need to look at the immeasurables. Dak in clutch moments is where he loses fan backing. I know of no other QB in the league that gets the sweaty, deer in the headlights look like he gets……..and when he does get it……it’s game over……..and not in a good way…

the press conference after the game about "we'll have to look at the tape, we made some good plays, I have to get better, I will get better!"

Straight from Cam Newton's 4th and 1.....

Before the season started and QB evals were being done Dak v. other players, notably this one.

We're comparing Dak to another QB with similar stats over their last 50 starts. That's over 3 years' worth of stats. Remember, this was before the season started. Here we go:

Dak Other QB
W/L 33-17 36-14 practically a wash
Pass TDs 105 105
INTs 38 39
Pass Rtg 101.3 98.9
Yds/Att 7.6 7.5
Comp % 68.4 66.8

Many of you know where this is going, though some may not. The other quarterback's stats are those of Patrick Mahomes.

A QB's legacy is built in the post-season, and I won't argue with that. I will argue that PM had better offenses every year, while we were supposed to have a better defense than KC.

Point the finger wherever you want, but the stats don't lie. Football is a 22 man game, and I'd argue that Dak was doing his job. Like him, don't like him, I don't care. Just remember that there are very few QBs that match up to him that also happen to be available.

Somehow Mahomes has always had a running game. Going into this season, it was obvious that we had problems at the RB position, and that was a killer.

Food for thought as we head into the off-season and begin building our team for next year.

Until next year......

(formatted this right before I posted. It's whack once I hit post)
KC has the best coaching and defense in the NFL,
or Mahomes is Justin Fields.

Oh, well, GEE!!! If it came STRAIGHT from Cam Newton!!!!

Duck got paid because Jerry is a clown who doesn't care about winning, but does care about paying his own and trolling fans and winning his way (which he can't and never will do).

Can you please compare Dak's vs. Mahomes playoff stats now? Inquiring minds want to know.

I compared Trent Dilfer and Nick Foles vs Dan Marino and Jim Kelly Superbowl win stats.

All this time I thought Marino and Kelly were better than Dilfer and Foles until I realized Foles and Dilfer won more Superbowls than Marino and Kelly.

So according to your logic, what i just posted is true, correct?

Its all about Super Bowls for QBs. They command the money, they get the pressure. 50 years from now, people won't compare Dak and Mahomes stats- they will count the rings. There won't be any thoughts of Dak not having support or injuries etc...did he get his team a ring? Unless your someone like Dan Marino or Dan Fouts, who are both legendary, you need a ring or two.

So that means out of those four, Dak comes fifth. No Superbowl and induction into the HoF

The number crunchers make me laugh. Anyone who thinks Dak belongs anywhere in the neighborhood of Mahomes needs to watch more games and layoff the stats. Everyone knows Dak is a master stat padder who shrinks in the big moments......... except Jerry.

Dak got paid because he met the numbers to get that kind of money. Dak got paid because the idiot GM didn't sign him when he could of had him for 30's million. Dak got paid because we have the dumbest GM in NFL History. Or at least one of them. Do I blame ,Dak? Hell no! Pay me 60 million ,Jerry. I'll get my arm warmed up.;

He got paid because that's the market for top half QBs. He would have gotten similar numbers elsewhere if the Cowboys didn't sign him. That's life.

Cousins got paid, Wilson got paid, Watson got paid, Carr got paid. It's par for the course, for QBs that end up moving.

And for the QBs that don't move? They usually get a boatload to keep them.

It's not even just a Jerry thing. Everyone doing high level GM or agent work in the NFL understands the dynamics of salary for QBs.

Sometimes teams end up happy. Sometimes sad. But that's life. You pays your money, you gets your fun.

Anyone breathing air knows Dak has to have a strong OL and a strong running game. The Cowboys failed to ensure those were in place this year. We all knew the offense was going to be a struggle and guess what, it was. So once again we are going into a off season where those same two issues exist. We will all have front row seats to see exactly how much the Cowboys are all-in.
Great response. Mahomes couldn't of done much better with what Jerry gave Dak to work with this season. As with companies that fail. The failure usually starts at the top. No difference in Dallas. 30 years guys!!!!!!! Dak been here for 10.....Yep. Dak's fault

Nice response.....It's called the Law of Supply and Demand.....Or in America....a Capitalist- system.... Reason I say Jerry suck??? He could of had Dak for 15 to 20 million cheaper. Wanna blame somebody for his money??? Blame Jerry.....

Bottom line, Dak was regressing in 22 and he had an awful showing against GB again in the playoffs. We could have let him play out the final year of his contract this season before making a decision but didn't and instead making him the highest paid player in history and low and behold his regression continued. Now we have a mediocre at best QB with a crippling cap charge that has less talent around him to make him look even decent. We are screwed.
100%

After the disastrous 2022 season where he missed 1/3 of the season yet still let the league in picks, we were told that was an "outlier"

2024 = another injury plagued season with extremely pedestrian performance

It's starting to look like 2023 was the outlier based on recent trends.

Good thing our alcoholic owner locked him up with a headline grabbing record setting contract just before opening kickoff.....

The problem is people hate Prescott. And it has nothing to do with him being a Dallas cowboy quarterback. They just don’t like him. He could win a Super Bowl and they would hate him.
Leave his teammates out of this.

This thread is about Dak
