Long time Cowboys fans know the game. We didn't grow up playing Madden; we played real football.
And most recognize that we wouldn't want Dak as our high school quarterback, much less the quarterback of the Cowboys.
He doesn't possess the leadership skills or the ability to drive an offense. He's not the guy who is going to make the players around him better.
He's just along for the ride, and other players have to carry the team- including him.
He's not a winner. He's never been a winner.
There's a reason for that.
He doesn't know what it takes to be one.

We're comparing Dak to another QB with similar stats over their last 50 starts. That's over 3 years' worth of stats. Remember, this was before the season started. Here we go:

A QB's legacy is built in the post-season, and I won't argue with that. I will argue that PM had better offenses every year, while we were supposed to have a better defense than KC.

Point the finger wherever you want, but the stats don't lie. Football is a 22 man game, and I'd argue that Dak was doing his job. Like him, don't like him, I don't care. Just remember that there are very few QBs that match up to him that also happen to be available.

Somehow Mahomes has always had a running game. Going into this season, it was obvious that we had problems at the RB position, and that was a killer.

Food for thought as we head into the off-season and begin building our team for next year.

Well if we are going to base everything merely on stats and not understand the difference between winning stats and garbage stats, we are already done for,.

If regular seasons stats were all that mattered sure but it's not. Dak lead offenses look way too anemic in the post season until the game is out of hand and then he leads a decent looking drive for a TD or 2 which makes the stats look better.. it is not all his fault with poor schemes, poor coaching, lack of support from skill positions but Dak is the focal point on offense and unlike mahomes Dak just can't make magic happen in the most important games.

There’s always somebody else on the team that lets us down. Byron Jones, Ezekiel Elliott, Prescott, they’ve all made mistakes in the playoffs, including coaching. Just can’t blame him, Prescott. It takes a team to fail and win. Like I said, Patrick Mahomes would fail in the system. And I do truly believe that. He’s blessed to have Andy Reid.

I don't think Dak will ever be an elite quarterback and 8 seasons later his capabilities certainly could be diminishing. But it does take a very robust and fundamentally sound team to win the Super Bowl. In 2021 the Bucs beat the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. Mahomes and company could only muster up 9 points against the Bucs who scored 31. One of the key reasons was the Chiefs offensive line was compromised as 2 of their starting offensive linemen were out and backups were in. The Bucs defense most definitely impacted Patrick Mahomes who did not have adequate protection and struggled passing the football.
