Why did they trade Amari Cooper again?

According to team sources, they soured on him in the playoff loss to SF. I think they looked at the tape and saw his lack of effort with the game on the line in the 4th quarter and just decided he wasn’t worth 20M a season.
Agree. In the end, it all came down to Jerruh not wanting to pay that much moolah to a player like Amari.
Money was the biggest issue of several issues.

In the 2021 season the Cowboys had 10 tds of > 20 yards to WRs, and 12 total.

Since Dak returned from his thumb injury, they have 2 tds if over 20 yards from WRs and 5 total (since 2022 overall, 4 total > 20+ yard tds from WRs, and 7 overall).

in 2021, 4 WRs had >20 yard TDs; Cooper, Lamb, Wilson and Gallup.

Since 2022, Lamb.

Jerry, tell me why you resigned Gallup (after his acl tear), let Wilson walk and traded Cooper?

Team still needs to pay it's stars and Cooks will end up with a lot of yards before playoffs start.

He can say it was all about the money but it was pretty clear Jerry was peeved about Cooper missing games during the whole thing we are not allowed to talk about here. Jerry seemed to think Cooper put himself before the team.
That’s rich since Jerry has done that for 29 years

With Deshaun Watson who finally had a good game since he arrived in Cleveland.
Watson didn’t play in an NFL game for 1 & 2/3 seasons.
His return late 2022 was "taking his lumps" - grinding and suffering through bad play for him to physically and mentally get back to being an able player in the league.
If Watson has truly excoriated that off-the-field fetish behavior from his life, he can become a top league QB.

I don’t believe he’ll ever live up to what the Browns traded for him and paid him.

Some people don't want to hear this, but Cooper would still be the #1 WR in Dallas. Lamb is and has always been a slot receiver.
He's considered the BEST ROUTE runner in the game by man. Guys like that, elite QBs would love, because they know where he is going to be and whine... Guys like Dak hold the ball way too long, so it's basically a waste.

Stephen Jones basically said in an interview that he wasn't making plays for the money he was being paid. Of course, he forgot to point out that Amari doesn't throw the ball to himself. This is Dez all over again as far as Stephen Jones excuses, but I'd take Amari any day over Dez, because of his elite route running and speed.

I think they wanted his contract off the books.

And I think things Amari did rubbed Jerry the wrong way.

More that latter than the former. Esp since we didn’t end up using the extra money to sign anyone and gave Gallup a new deal.
Basically, Jerry’s ego and it was a huge mistake.

Good thing he slowed himself down, looked like he was gonna put a hole through that desk right there.

2021 was typical... You are forgetting the offense basically imploded after Denver, except for a couple games.

I dunno, with a QB that could throw a precise pass it's hard to pass up a prime Dez, especially for high point/fades in the redzone.

Definitely that's Dez's bread and butter, but his speed, IMO, doesn't allow for him to be as effective for other routes. I just think Amari gives you more variety and the same can be said with a QB that is elite and precise. Imagine hitting Amari as soon as he comes out of a break, in stride.
