Why do some here want to trade Diggs?

I get it.. create a problem so we can fix it. It's all clear now.
Ok…so Jerry will pay Diggs way more than what he is worth, just like he has done for several other players;
Diggs has his money and if history repeats itself, he will not perform at the level justified by the contract…so Dallas is stuck with his mediocre, uninspired play.with a fat contract that nobody else will take on because Dallas over-valued his skills; so a problem is created regardless of the situation. This team needs an infusion of talent and the loss of one player won’t change the fortunes of this club unless the name is Parsons or Martin.
Belichick did this for years…getting rid of guys while they had value for draft picks. This team needs an infusion of talent; so get draft picks however one can.

I think its a question of commitment to team goals and cap ramifications, as well as what compensation would he return?

I really like Diggs, but after letting his lack of contact slide vs the Bucs it was a monumental problem vs 9ers. There was no excuse for giving Kittle that massive gain. He made me absolutely sick on that play. It was game changing AND in the PLAYOFFS. If you aren't all in for that game, when will you be?

I’m not in the “Diggs has to be traded” camp, but do believe they need to be open to moving on from someone. Dak, Diggs, lamb, and parsons are all ready to make record money at their positions this offseason and next. In theory the cowboys have enough money to pay them all, but we get stuck in the same cycle of always having a tight cap and never participating in free agency.

Moving a guy like diggs in theory could net you a first round pick, maybe more, and clear up $25M in future cap space you could use to sign other players.

Not sure they have to move diggs, but it becomes very tempting when thinking about the possible return.
Ask his bookie and no I’m not kidding Sports books have corrupted the players and the game

That play cost the game. Dallas wins 12 to 10 if they don’t score there. You say 12 to 10 really. Yea a win is a win and that game was all about defense

Is it because he didnt get int''s like he did previous year?
Or is it because of some missed tackles?
Isnt he still a good cover guy?
Because our idiot Front office will give him top CB $ for a position (when you have a pass rush) is really not that important.
He also has shown he is not an island and blows coverages for deep gains and tackling is not his strong suit.
Trust me Jerry will give him a top 3 NFL contract as he will with # 88 another player who is not elite.
Can you hear them laughing......you will.

Cut him....if hes not willing to be the best rebounder out there for his position then the 3s he makes and the 40 point games arent worth it

Not to mention playing in maybe the weakest division of all time. No team other than the Pats from that division has been to the Super Bowl since the Bills went in '93. Meanwhile all but one of the teams in the NFC East have visited the promised land since then. Hell the Eagles and G-men have gone three times each since that time. That's why all the talk of the NFC East being such a weak division has always made me laugh. These teams are nearly always trying to swing for the fences. Yes the Cowboys and the Ratscums have meddling owners who keep getting in the way, but they have always been at least TRYING to field a championship team.

This is also a bad example because Curry is actually a pretty good rebounder especially for his size. At only 6'2" he averages 6.3 a game.. which is more than Jimmy Butler who at 6'8" averages 6.1. And James Harden who averages 6.2 at 6'5" .. And Al Horford who is 6'9" but averages only 6.1 .

If we want to have even more fun compare Curry to the 6'6" Michael Jordan.. who averaged 6.2 rebounds per game for his career. Curry isn't going to challenge those career numbers but he has steadily improved his rebounding over the course of his career. He averaged under 4 the first 4 years of his career and h as been hovering in the 5-6 range for the last 7-8 seasons. He's a much better defender now too.. He aint shuttin anybody down but there aint no more "automatic" points when his man gets the ball now. Dude is a two time MVP and 4 time champ but still working to get better. I respect and admire guys like that.

It’s because he didn’t get as many INT’s and he avoids tackles. He didn’t want any part of Mike Evans in the playoffs and it was pretty obvious. It put off a lot of fans. He made several business decisions late in the game when the Cowboys had the game won. Regardless that he shies away from tackling he’s one of our best players. To build a great team you have to hang onto your best players. If you look around the board many fans don’t want pay our best players including Pollard. I’ve already seen a couple of posts with fans wanting to know what Parsons trade value might be. He’s another player that a lot of fans aren’t going to want to pay when it’s time. If it was up to some of the fans on the board the Cowboys would be void of any star players.

It's actually 4.7 over his career but what I was trying to say is if you have someone that's elite in his main ability then harping on the other things that he doesn't do well is kinda ridiculous. Like Tom Brady and rushing yards, Derrick Henry and receptions.

This offseason I've heard Martin, Diggs and Parsons name being thrown around as trade bait, makes no sense at all. Those 3 are in the top 3 in the NFL at their positions.

Is he really a good cover corner or just an average cover corner with good ball skills? Ball skills will only get you so far because interception numbers are so variant from year to year.

You never know, but it was a distinct possibility. I'm not ignorant to that fact, and it made me furious watching Kittle clown around because our cb1, wasn't willing to put a hit on him.

Normally I try to take players in context for all of what they have accomplished and a guy with Diggs resume I would give the benefit of the doubt. Not that play. No excuse.

Paying top dollars would in my mind be for someone that makes other players and positions better. I believe A great DT would make corners and LBs better. I don’t think Diggs can make our defensive line deficiencies better. Therefore, don’t pay Diggs big money, and invest in the middle of the D line.

I don’t know if I want to trade him, but I know I don’t want to pay him top CB Money. If that means trade, then yes let’s do the deed!!!!
