How is it an agenda? What possible effect could people's 'hatred' of Henson have on the actual operations of the team? Dick Cheney has an agenda; posters on Cowboyszone have opinions, some more informed than others.

See post #9.

IMHO

Some people want him to fail because of:

A: What happened with Carter. There were a lot of people that thought QC got a raw deal, and that he was the savior of the Dallas Cowboys....don't laugh....it's true, some people want Henson to fail because their guy got a raw deal. Stupid if you ask me.

B: Like Juke said, some people are more interested in being Mr. Or Miss Cleo than actually wanting something good to happen if it means they are wrong.

Agreed. What I personally dont understand are the people that are so quick to praise any little miniscule thing he says or does. I also dont really buy what Henson says about having 'football in his heart' or whatever it was he has been saying all offseason. He can talk a mean game and say all the right things, but if he were good at baseball and the Yankees stuck with him instead of pawning him off to the Reds for a sack of baseballs, I doubt he would be a football player. If he turns out good, then that is great, if not oh well, there will be no love lost.

That sounds like a vote for - He played baseball

I don't think it's an agenda, the fans that truly hate him are just angry we wasted a 3rd round pick on the guy.....especially given the problems this organization has had finding stability at the QB position in the post Aikman era.

At least we have one of the best in the business to lead us now, even if its only for another few seasons.

First off...after the Yankees "pawned" him off, they traded to get him back.

Just curious how you balance this opinion with the fact that he volunteered to go to NFLE?

Now, if he was sitting on his arse, collecting his bonus and thinking the starting job should be handed to him, I'd be right there with ya.

That's not the case.

He volunteered to go to Europe because he knows he had to show the coaching staff something or move on to soccer.

The Reds realized what they had and shipped him back.

Jeez, what a loaded question. I no more "hate" Henson than I hate Mexicans for brazenly violating our national sovereignty and immigration laws. I hate lawbreakers and societal parasites, not whole nationalities.

Oh....you work in the Reds organization. Cooooool. Thank you for elightening us.

He went to Europe, at the age of 26, he's already filthy rich. He didn't have to go to NFLE. So, you have a problem with players who want to show their coaches that they are worthy by doing things like volunteering to go to NFLE?

Makes sense to me.

Sorry, where do you get that I said I had a problem with players wanting to get experience? I said I had a problem with all of the "football is in my heart" routine instead of the 'I failed miserably at baseball, so I figured what the hell, why not football" routine which more than likely is closer to the truth.

Well, perhaps I read sarcasm into this "He volunteered to go to Europe because he knows he had to show the coaching staff something or move on to soccer."

He walked away from a $15 million contract with the Yanks. Pretty impressive to me.

And so, not only does a football player have to be good...but football has to be his first love too?

Ya know, Bernie Williams, who is a potential HOF baseball player loves his classical guitar playing first, then baseball. That's NG, right?

And you want Henson to say "I failed miserable at baseball...." just like every player who signs with the Cowboys says "The Cowboys were my first choice...." because ya know, the money has nothing to do with it.

Yes?

Yes, I would prefer my football players to actually be football players. Bringing up Bernie Williams is irrelevant. He plays guitar in his spare time, and it is a HOBBY of his. Its not a career. He diddnt turn tail and run away from the Yanks (why would he need to, he is a great player) to play guitar for a living.

It's simple.

Some here went out on a limb in predicting his failure. "He's another baseball player. Haven't we seen enough ex baseball players" blah blah blah.

Now, ya have two kinds of people. Those who are true fans who would LOVE to be wrong with a prediction if it means the Cowboys will be better.

And then ya have those who would rather be right, even if it means rooting against a player on their team. Sorry, I don't call those people "fans". Well actually, they are fans... fans of themselves.

Ya see, those are the people who laugh and congratulate themselves with a pat on the back as they cackle, "See I told ya I was right. Your side of the ship is sinking"

Not too bright if ya ask me.

I would LOVE being wrong about henson but i want a qb who i think is a super bowl guy. jus dont see henson as that guy. I PRAY im wrong

Sure. This kinda thinking, I understand because you WILL still root for the guy...but you have your concerns.

Makes good sense to me.

But unless being proven right somehow affects said posters standing on the board (ie. being made a mod) or affects the status of another poster (ie. getting them banned), I still don't see it as having an agenda. The word agenda implies having some kind of plan that aims to affect change to the benefit of the agender holder. Saying that posters like Bledsoe4MVP have an agenda is giving them way too much credit.

Even when this player in question is demonstrating incremental improvements each week, there seems to be some who have a strong opinion that he will never be able to play in this league.

Although the NFLE isn't close to the competition as this league, the fact that Henson is getting playing time and improving, gives a lot of us fans some hope.

Imagine if the Rams organization had given up on Kurt Warner like some of the fans here are so easily willing to give up on Henson. Sure he's not playing great but he's improving by gaining valuable playing time.

His current statistics aren't bad, he's made some impressive plays, but above all else, he's proving to be a leader by helping his team WIN.

I want to see him succeed - he deserves that chance.

I guess I don't understand. How exactly has he failed us?

He was a long term project when we got him. He is just now getting the opportunity to play some and brush up on his skills and knock off some of the rust. Seems like we are at the beginning of his maturity into a NFL QB. And now, before he even has a chance to prove he can NOT play in the NFL, he has failed us???
