Why does no one care more that Noah Brown is No. 2 WR

I just don't see him as a #2...especially the # 2 we need. This team will have trouble generating big plays and that leads to an underwhelming offense. You need to be able to score in todays game and you need big plays. Dallas will have trouble generating these.
hes not and even if listed that way big difference between #2 WR and #2 offensive targets.

we have Lamb, schultz, pollard, zeke, and Turpin all before Noahs name is mentioned. Add in Furgeson and Hendershot in 2-3 TE sets using run game etc ..lots of options OH and Gallup back by game 3 is also KEY.

My response is you are mentioning some guys who have never done it in the NFL. That is concerning to count on them as a given.

My second response is besides Lamb and at time Pollard in certain situations, who is going to make a big play in the passing game? That is what this team is missing. It is really tough to put together 15 play drives...especially with a team who commits a lot of penalties.

I don’t feel there’s been enough attention to Noah Brown being the No. 2 WR to start the season. He averaged 25 snaps per game last year in 12 games and that was with 111 taking place between the Chiefs and Raider games when everyone was down (we saw how well those games went).

Of those snaps I’d bet half were on special teams.

Rolling out Brown and relying on Gallup to be the savior when healthy is the same thing they tried with Tyron. Gallup had injury issues everywhere last year which is why there was no competition to sign him.

To me this shows Jerry and Stephen are hedging their bets with McCarthy to justify bringing in Sean. If they win and have to keep McCarthy - great. If they go 9-8 and first round exit (or worse) - bring in Sean who will magically fix everything. Which is stupidity for so many reasons.

But back to the premise, Noah Brown is AWFUL as the No. 2 even if it’s just for the opener which 105.3 thinks it is. They feel Gallup is back for Cincy.

Apparently you missed him in the NE game. How he gave us 2 critical 1st downs. a 3rd and 18, he got us 20 yards, and another similar 3rd and long.
What does this have to do with MM vs. SP?

You have no idea how Brown will be.

Noah Brown isn't likely to be functioning as a typical #2. Until Gallup and Washington come back #2 will be by committee, and the TE's may see more targets than normal. Pollard could also be spread out wide more.
All true.

People just like to panic

This theme of xxx player is horrible and Jerry is playing him to make sure McCarthy fails so they can bring in Peyton is ludicrous and not sure why it keeps popping up.
Cowboys Zone needs to keep a tally of the Sean Payton next Dallas Cowboys HC crowd - so we others can "praise" their prophesy in January.

You don;t know that. Yet. We're about to find out!

Try to cheer him on if you have it in you.
sometimes you have to move on. Landry use to cut players like this that couldnt make it after 3 years. There wasnt one player he regretting cutting after 3 years.
Bet you were saying the same thing with Garrett.
Why will Brown get any better this year when hes done nothing for 3 years. We're wasting our time with him. Making him the #2 is comical. I'd rather pick up someone with talent that another team dropped yesterday or move another receiver up than give the position to a player that has proved for 3 years he cant do it.
sorry-just not into this giving 4th, 5th, 6th chances. We did it with Garret 9 times. it doesnt work

anything else i can help with?

the OL concern far different story.

Turpin has never caught a pass in the NFL. He's not ahead of Brown at this point.

Bill Bates played for Tom Landry for 8 or 9 years and was never more than a special teamer... Nate Newton and Mark Tuinei were both on the squad for more than 3 years before they showed any promise. Sorry there are no hard and fast rules when dealing with human beings..

O line downgraded, WR corps downgraded... Quinn better have pulled a miracle with this defense if we are to do anything this year.

Yeah he's not even ahead of Tolbert or even Houston at this point. Those guys can both play outside which he realistically cannot. Though being 160 pounds never stopped D-Jax from playing outside..

The number 2 means little and we all know a couple weeks in that Gallup will be the number 2

Noah Brown isn’t even close to a number two receiver. He only makes the team every year because he excels on special teams and can play receiver.

Maybe he can be viable for a couple games.

???
Newton was starting by his 2nd year
Tuinei in his 2nd year after being swung to OL or his 4th year in
Bates was starting by his 4th. Wasnt Bates in almost every game. He wasnt starting after 3 years of being a starter but still in almost every game. If he wasnt nickel he was backing up safties

I'll bet u a $1.
Noah Brown doesnt finish as our #2 receiver or start more than 6 games. As a receiver he's JAG, a roster spot waste

I don’t think JJ loves Big Mac. But I also don’t think he would sabotage him either.

What I think is even more far fetched is the pipe dream that Sean Payton is headed to Big D next year. He’s used to being a real NFL HC who has control of the locker room and a huge say in personnel. Unless JJ changes how he operates I can’t see Payton agreeing to come to the big top circus. Anyone think that’s going to happen?

The real question is not whether the Cowboys have enough weapons to run a nice ball control offense. I think they easily do.

3 questions for me for the offense

1. can the line make holes with McG at G ?
2. Can the offense remain penalty free that is required for ball control drives?
3. Is Moore creative enough to use the short weapons he has?

I am not as worried about protection because I think they stick to a ton of short stuff.
