Why does the offense look so much different with another QB?

Of course it's two different players, but Dak was known for having more athletic abilities than Rush, yet every game we've seen rush in this year, he's been in the pistol??

I'm not trying to make this into a diss Dak thread, I just think there's elements to this offense that seem to work better with Rush in there. The game plan seems much better, the plays seem better. I'm not sure why we don't do these kinds of things with Dak. Please give me your thoughts
The offense scored 20 points yesterday….10 points the week prior and 6 before that….the offense has sucked every week. You’ve just lowered your bar is all.

never it could be the coordinators i'm not sure what it is, but I like it and don't understand why we just stand in the shot gun all game long with Dak and nothing else
We've been pass-happy....I don't think it's just Dak. Forced to keep things within reason for Cooper's skill set....this is no knock on Cooper.

The offense was horrid vs Philly. Yesterday, we looked much better against a Washington team coming back to Earth. It’s easier to look better against lesser competition.

Different doesn't necessarily mean better.

But a good OC will adjust the offense to the players he has. It seems like they thought they could plug and play Coop with how the offense was run under Dak and the offense looked like stale molasses. They're calling things that seems to fit Coop better. They're also calling more run plays so they're not always behind in downs.

So giving credit where credit is due.. McCarthy called a relatively good game yesterday.

MM knows how to attack DQ's defense.....i liked the Oline combo better for this game but lets not forget DQ's defense can be run on and even this Cowboys team ran on them.
Still too many drive killing penalties because 3rd and 7 or longer is asking too much of this offense.

You guys are taking things the entire wrong way, FORGET the points!!!!!!!!! This offense couldn't score if it were all 11 players and 1 player playing defense, I get that! I'm just saying schematically it looks better, the type of formations, and the distribution of the ball!!!

Honestly I think Mike has opened up the offense a little bit more NOT because Rush is better than Dak but because he has to in order to win. Mike is now coaching for pride and maybe a job opportunity next year. He's trying to do things to help Rush be successful so Mike can go out on a high note.

coog i get what your saying and it has truth to it, what im saying is it looked that way in this game because of who the DC was on the other side....MM knows how to attack DQ's defense and thats with the run..we had our best run day and that is not a coincedence that is was on DQ's defense. It goes to show what everyone already knows, if you can get the run game going it can open up playaction passes..which is what we saw. Last week we passed the ball with Rush 50 times...thats horrible.

Rush reads the D much faster and so gets rid of the ball much quicker. Handoffs are also much quicker.

cooper rush v the bengals QB
cooper rush v the eagles

lets see him after them games then.

If he lights it up (Actually I dont care) = NO SB
if he does not light it up ( i still dont care) = NO SB

People here really think he better than DP.

cut prescott then via the supreme court.
play CR, save money for another helicopter for JJ

Rush is better at avoiding sacks because he checks the ball down way too much. Dak on the other hand is trying to make plays down the field but needs to check it down a little bit more often.
Rush is not checking it down. He's operating a short pass O because that's what his arm allows. Rush can only throw downfield on certain plays due to very limited arm strength.

i mean he threw the ball 50 times last weak why were the reads not better then? Rush like many QB's looks good when the run game works, DQ's defense tends to let the run game work....

Looked like the same offense as last week you just faced a trash defense.

If Rush had a live arm he might be one otlf the best in the league. But he has a noodle, so hes really not good. The team plays steps up and plays hard and with more discipline for him though, so...Leadership.
Required reading.

Tom Brady head on a Ken Dorsey body. For those who don't remember Ken Dorsey, Rush is a poor man's Matt Cassell.

it’s like you guys didn’t even see the last two weeks lol. The fact of the matter is Rush has time to throw. Just because you get the ball out fast on 3 yard passes doesn’t mean it’s good for the offense.
