Why does the offense look so much different with another QB?

i mean he threw the ball 50 times last weak why were the reads not better then? Rush like many QB's looks good when the run game works, DQ's defense tends to let the run game work....
He wasn't playing against a Dan Quinn D. A Quinn D operates on the sole assumption that they will get TO's. That leaves major holes to exploit, which is what Rush is good at.

It wasn't the run game that made Cooper effective. We didn't even run the ball to start the game, announcers were talking about it. The passing game made the run game work.

it’s like you guys didn’t even see the last two weeks lol. The fact of the matter is Rush has time to throw. Just because you get the ball out fast on 3 yard passes doesn’t mean it’s good for the offense.
Not true. He has the exact same pocket Dak had, he simply reads the D quicker and so gets rid of the ball much faster.

Obvious stuff, dude, if you let go your agenda.

Is that why they score 6 points last week?
Yes, it is. There are way too many throws that Rush cannot make due to his bad arm strength. However, when you have a stubborn DC such as Quinn, he's going to do what he does not matter what, so Rush simply exploits that. We saw this when Quinn was in Dall time after time.

Looked like the same offense as last week you just faced a trash defense.
It was exactly the same. Quinn allowed the short passes, that was the difference. Quinn is a stubborn idiot. His D's have traditionally been shutdown vs trash teams and sieves vs good teams.

can you explain hands offs are much quicker, and how that impacts an offense (good observation)
Quicker handoffs mean the opposing D doesn't have time to fill gaps/penetrate. I have no idea why Dak takes so much longer to hand the ball off, but he does.

I can only do layman's terms, there are many on here that are much (much!!!!) better than I.

There’s no agenda. The offensive line gave Rush a clean pocket yesterday. Last week they didn’t. It’s obvious. But you guys are trying to erase the previous weeks to fit your own agenda. Rush literally a few weeks ago had 40 yards passing. They gave him nothing to work with.

Yesterday he had a clean pocket all day and he was getting the football out. He deserves his credit for yesterday but he doesn’t deserve delusion.

Unreal thread.

cooper rush v the bengals QB
cooper rush v the eagles

lets see him after them games then.

If he lights it up (Actually I dont care) = NO SB
if he does not light it up ( i still dont care) = NO SB

People here really think he better than DP.

cut prescott then via the supreme court.
play CR, save money for another helicopter for JJ
Dak is an NFL QB. Rush is not.

Too bad Rush cannot teach his head for the game to Dak.

the loooooooooooooool handoff seems to allow the defense to have more time to get to our RB's instead of it being the other way, there's certain things I like about Cooper vs Dak, but i'm NOT anointing him!!

Rush is what he is. An average backup. But, one throw to CD across the middle really impressed me. Just dont see Dak making those kinds of throws very much. A timing throw he release before Lamb even made his cut. Stuff Aikman made a career out of. Dak is more of a "run to a spot and turn around and if you are open ill try to fastball it to you".

possibly, the guy isn't as bad as people say he is, seems like any other RB, with the more touches, the better he becomes
Neither was Pollard. He's having a decent season this year, 800 yards through 11 games, on pace for 1224 yards. He clearly doesn't suck as bad as some were claiming, so what was the problem last season?

Of course it's two different players, but Dak was known for having more athletic abilities than Rush, yet every game we've seen rush in this year, he's been in the pistol??

I'm not trying to make this into a diss Dak thread, I just think there's elements to this offense that seem to work better with Rush in there. The game plan seems much better, the plays seem better. I'm not sure why we don't do these kinds of things with Dak. Please give me your thoughts
Rush doesn’t have a favorite target or feel compelled to feed anyone. He just makes his read and delivers the ball to whoever is open. Dak hangs onto the ball waiting for the big play too often.

That said the offense only scored 20 points yesterday. So, thank the defense and special teams for this win.

Nope. Please quit including me in those ridiculous Dak spats and putting that sort of crapp in my head that I do not have. That should be reserved for your Dak spatting drivel.

It's like, I tell you what happened and you don't listen, and then accuse me of some sort of fairy tale. I have no agenda. Or rather, my agenda is to have a QB who is a D reading phenom w/ an NFL caliber arm. Dak has the NFL caliber arm, Rush has the NFL caliber head. You're so busy defending Dak you appear to be blind to anything and everything else.

A good D easily shuts Cooper down because he has a terrible arm. Dan Quinn let Cooper have the short stuff, so Cooper looked more effective. And throwing predominantly short stuff means the ball is gettting out of there really quickly. I mean, this is not rocket science, and if you'll leave your Dak agenda in the trash where it belongs, it would quickly become apparent to you.

If I told you Dak had two arms you'd argue.

Slow developing running plays. Why? I have no idea.

Daks not more athletic than Rush.

He used to be, but he’s not now.

Rush also has the ability to read a defense.

Rush isn’t good by any means, but Dak just sucks.
If Rush didn't have a noodle arm, he'd be a Dak upgrade but yeah he sucks too. His arm just isn't NFL caliber. He seems to go through reads a lot faster than Dak.

Dak has too much leeway, even Brady called this out in one of the Cowboys games he did early in the year, he said something like "this is not McCarthy's offense"

They need to pull the reigns a little bit with Dak, obviously sometimes he needs to play hero ball to win us a game or two, (Eagles games come to mind, Red Rush is incapable of) but sometimes he needs to stick more to the script (49ers games)

Also, the line played better yesterday and rushing game was better, Dak need those two to be succesful.

SB bound with the above implemented?
Nah rearranging the deck chairs, ships sailing nowhere.
Reading a D is a talent. If one is bad at it, he can become better, but you're not going to teach a 4.4 forty to a guy who runs a 5.0.
