Dez lovers will spin this as he is flush with offers and he is currently meticulously picking out the highest bidder for his services
They are in complete denial.

I thought it had something to do with how his contract was written in regard to releasing by a certain date because of something about an injury clause.I've seen it written several times the Cowboys would have gained back more salary cap space had they waited until June 1 to cut him. I don't know how accurate that is, but if true the Cowboys actually could have made it much worse for Dez.
They could have designated him for June 1st if they wanted to, like they did with Scandrick.
They chose not to go that route.
And they couldn't have waited longer because the team workouts have started. If Dez was out there and got hurt, they'd be forced to pay him.
No, they waited as long as they could to do this, with no incentive to do so, other than spite.
Lmao, what?Maybe Dez does not want to sign right away.
You all need to let this go, move on.
can't let go, can you?Maybe Dez does not want to sign right away.

Lmao, what?
I often refer to him as that, not sure what the going rate is for one of those.maybe he wants too much money for a jump ball wr.

See that's what I thought, it seemed like there was alot of interest in him after being released, players around the league were reaching out to him....but the fact of the matter is he hasn't visited with anyone.

Have you got your #17 jersey yet?I have. I am not creating 20 threads a day about him not being signed yet.
And yes I do have the right to respond in those threads. Mainly to point out why don’t people just let it go.
And he did us no favors by being an average WR the last three years............I'd say that the Cowboys did him absolutely no favors in waiting until they did to release him.
You can designate a player a June 1st cut before June 1st. You just don't get the cap relief until after June 1st.What I believe it was, or at least what I believe I read, was that if they waited until June 1 to cut Dez he wouldn't have counted against the salary cap at all, but since workouts would have started by then, if Dez got hurt in the meantime they would have been stuck with the full salary. If this is accurate, technically the team could have simply held Dez out of workouts until June 1, then released him. Admittedly that would have probably not been viewed very favorably by players or fans.
It seems the timeline may have been to wait until signing another receiver, then try to trade Dez, and when they found no takers they decided to release him.
