I don't think people dislike Austin as much as they are sick of him going out with an injury all the time. Now, we have Williams who has shown a ton of potential and we don't want Williams development to be slowed by Austin, who can't stay on the field.

I think he quit in the finale last year and just content to play the odd game as a decoy so far this year.

Guy is the epitome of what has plagued this team year in and year out. Too many marshmellows content when they get a little scratch from Jerrah. The Cowboys need to stop drafting and re-signing talented nice guys who happen to play football and start drafting players who love playing football and hate to lose. More Sean Lee, Dez Bryant, Orlando Scandrick's please. Less Miles Austin, MoClaiborne, and David Arkin's.

implying that Austin, Claiborne and Arkin dont hate to lose. I really dont know that thats accurate.

Anyway, youre talking about a UDFA that came outta nowhere and has put up thousands of yards for this franchise. Austin will absolutely run routes right across the middle without fear. Not really what I call a mashmellow. If I had to point a finget and call him anything negative it would just be a broke down WR who got a contract for too much money.

Im more concerned about winning to be honest. If a healthy Austin can be out there getting some of Williams balls and he can get the job done I dont care about developing Williams. He can develope in practice.

For me, I see no fight.

No fight to keep Dez from taking the #1 receiver job.

No fight to regain the spot when he did lose it.

No fight to stay healthy with regard to the hamstrings.

No fight to hold off Williams for the #2 role.

No fight to get back on the field.

People can talk about circumstances differently, but that's honestly how I see it.

I actually agree with everything you just said. Don't want to pile on JJ bc he did what he had to do at the time after being caught with his pants down with his RW fiasco. Miles does seem to "coast" at times as he is a smart guy and probably knows the reality of his financial status in the NFL where a second contract with a big SB is unlikely.

Ever since he opened up the Miles Austin Hamstring Clinic, he has had less time helping us out on the field.

i dont think he's affected much by the losing. when has he ever shown any emotion?

i also dont think he's much of a leader. at least ware you see him teaching and being involved while on the sideline injured. u dont see that from miles.

He has 125 now so he needs 375 over 8 games or 47 yards per game. So your answer is...20%

If he plays in all 8 of those games he will easily go past that mark.
Taking another look at his stats I noticed hes listed at 6'2" 22lbs. I dont think hes quite that big.

This post is the epitome of everything that is wrong with "fans" nowadays.

I dont care about emotion. He doesnt lean either way... If he doesnt wear his heart on his sleeve, thats just fine by me.

Also, you havent seen him talking to Beasley, Williams, and Harris on the sidelines.

lol god... I cant believe Im putting up an argument for the guy.

Well it's like T-Ro said, I generally don't dislike players unless their effort isn't there or they're bad guys off the field or something like that. It stinks that Miles is always hurt, but I don't see any indication that he's jaking it. And it's not his fault Jerry offered him a lot of money.

listen to talking cowboys. they have been hinting at him jaking since the end of last season.

Yahoo (because I was checking my FF team) has him at 6-2 216.

I just think he is to far down the pecking order to average 50 yards a game. Dez, JWit, TWill even Beas will steal his targets. Really doesn't matter what we think because there is 0% of him playing every game from here on out.

This.. plus the not being a leader, not showing emotion on the sidelines stuff.. is what i call a baloney argument.

Just because he "hides" from the media or is perceived that way.. means nothing. Who cares?

..and unless you have a sideline cam following him around the entire game, you can't sit there and tell me that he isn't involved on the sidelines or helping teach the young guys.

I mean, you can.. but you can also tell me aliens have landed and are in the process of taking over earth.

I guess it just comes down to whats going on behind closed doors. Where he is with his health, how hes moving and such. If healthy I dont expect Beasley to take any of his targets. I expect the coaches (lol) to get the ball to who can do the most with it.

He may re-emerge if he's healthy, but it's doubtful he can stay healthy even if he does.

Because he's one of the worst value contracts on this team right now. Can't stay on the field. 5th best option on offense right now.

I'm all about putting the winning option on the field as well, but given Williams's performance in a few of these games, there isn't much of a drop-off, if any, having Williams in the game and we are giving Williams the added benefit of developing him further. If the Williams we saw was the one we saw during the first few games, I'd be all for putting Austin back in, but Williams has been making big plays.

Broaddus said that?

As for the OP, it's unfortunate, but it's the way it is. People love to dump on pretty much every player who goes downhill, especially ones that make good money. I don't know people are that way, but they are.

Yep, on talking Cowboys awhile back, also thinks Miles is soft and does not fight for the ball.

Recently, he said that he does think Miles has value when healthy but I guess the "when healthy" is the point!
