A year ago I would have agreed with you but Jerry's been acting a lot different from his old MO. Jerry would love nothing more to be the catalyst behind seeing Lance become a franchise qb and proving everybody wrong.

He's tried it with Ryan Leaf and Brandon Weeden and some other bums.
I have no qualms if they let Dak go. But I don’t see it happening. It goes against everything they’re about at their core.

I think Dak's agent is teaching the Jones's a lesson. They could've extended him years ago, they chose to tag him twice. They chose to allow him to play out the last season while letting the price continue to rise. They chose to sit on their hands at the beginning of Free Agency and watch other players like Trevor Lawrence reset the market. They chose to send a message to the media that they were playing hardball. They chose to allow his last contract to include a no trade clause.
And I believe Todd France is now playing hardball with them. France is a part of Athlete's First agency, the same agency that represents Tua Tag... and Jordan Love. I think the Jones's have already given France a number, but because they've taken so long, and he was privy to what the Tua and Love deals would look like, he's decided to wait and allow them to reset the market first. Let the Jones's sit and wait and look like the morons that they are. And in the end when it's all said and done, the Jones's will have either:
A)
Waited too long to pay Dak, and will now be forced to overpay their QB that is highly coveted by other teams in need of an All Pro QB
or
B) Been forced to let him walk, carry over dead money into next season, and because of the no trade clause lose a HIGHLY coveted All Pro QB in his prime for NOTHING in return and with no certainty whatsoever of what the QB position will look like moving forward.

So when Jerry says they're trying and doing their best, he's not lying. At this point the best they can do is wait to be told what the price will be and make a decision on whether they want to keep their QB and their team intact to make another run at the playoffs. OR concede that they've ruined the Cowboys chances at competing for a super bowl and that Jerry will more than likely never see a QB as talented as Dak is, play for the Cowboys again.

And for anyone who hates Dak and thinks he's incapable of winning the big one, I can't say for certain that he can, but I like his chances if you give him a decent coaching staff which he hasn't had for the majority of his career, as well as a decent Front Office that would've known better than to extend Zeke and Jaylon Smith before prioritizing their franchise QB. This would've opened up more flexibility and options for the team long term.

Thank you Todd France for exposing their ineptitude.
Thank you for exposing yourself.

Then he should cut Dak now and insert Lance as QB1.

Absolutely! I’ve been seeing tons of Dak haters congregating in here and discussing our QB like he’s a piece of trash. The group think is so rampant I just had to say something.
Reminds me of politics, but I won’t go there.

Still haven’t seen a plan where we let Dak walk and end up in a better position to make a Super Bowl run. You haven’t offered one nor has anyone else. So I’m glad you’re witnessing this.

Just like he did for zeke, in the end he will be the highest paid ever
That's what most likely will happen.

Some rich people are not as smart as they think, and then there was two.

Obviously Dak has no leverage over the Dallas Cowboys. The point is Dak’s agent has him in a desirable situation where the Dallas Cowboys have no leverage over Dak. Few NFL players, very few of Dak’s potential, get themselves into the contractual position Dak is in. That’s why he was at voluntary and mandatory OTAs, is at trading camp, and is always smiling. He seems more happy than Jerry Jones. He’s celebrating the birth of his first child, Jerry was in court suing his last one. Dak is talking about playing elsewhere, Jerry is talking about not being able to afford everything he wants in life. Jerry is asking fans to give him credit, Dak is telling fans to move on. Dak doesn’t have or need leverage. Unlike Jerry, he seems thrilled with how things are.
They didn't want to pay Dak the first contract either. That time they were dumb because Dak's ceiling was unknown and waited too long. Now that we know that Dak can't get us far in the playoffs, it makes it much easier not to pay him a ridiculous 2nd contract. The first one was ridiculous enough since it turns out he sucks as a big game/playoff QB.

Wow you believe Jerry and Stephen got this under control because they're worth more.... LOL that's funny
Ultimately does it really affect them? They are worth $14 billion. Dude has a $250 million boat. They don't care about winning the SB anymore. They just care about being the #1 draw and talk of the league. He's won that battle over and over. Laughing at us all, all the way to the bank.

Far from mediocre and there is statistic evidence for me to prove this, but I can't help people's emotions. that's something entirely different.
This forum has radically redefined what “mediocre” is. It certainly doesn’t mean well above average.

As much as I hate the Jones family and feel good they get exposed I will never give any credit to France. I know a lot of people think I hate Dak. I really don’t. I truly believe under the right circumstances we could win with Dak. But France puffed up Dak’s head into putting himself over the team and that will cost this franchise its QB.

Jerry and Stephen don’t need help with being inept. They got that covered. France, Dak, and Tad could have all come together and do the Tom Brady route of taking less money to win a championship to cement Dak’s legacy. Then cash in with broadcasting or what have you after his career is over. But unfortunately it didn’t work out that way and here’s where we are. For the mess that we’re in I blame Jerry, Stephen, France and Dak in that order.

I don’t know how in what universe you see Daks head being puffed up. He’s been a good soldier this entire time regardless of the crap coaches they pair him with, regardless of how much blame is directed at him, regardless of how ungrateful the fans are.
He’s made plays, he’s entertained us, he’s led us to the playoffs, he’s a model citizen and never complains. And in return we paid Zeke and Jaylon Smith before him. We’ve tagged him twice. We’ve let him sit in limbo waiting to find out his future w the organization while getting shredded by fans.
But somehow HE is the one w the inflated ego for deciding he needs to be paid what he’s worth? At one point $30M was considered too much. They ****ed around and found out and now the price has doubled. We could have him here on a discount as well as Amari Cooper.
For some reason the common fan gives billionaire owners a pass while calling the players greedy. This is crazy to me

I don’t think any of what you just indicated bothers Dak Prescott. There may well be a team willing to pay Dak Prescott more than the Cowboys. That’s the business both Dak and Jerry choose for themselves. Like any job, some days are better than others.

Dak is not elite and he shouldn’t be paid like he’s elite. Being a starter and winning regular season games does not make you elite. Dak was quoted as saying “Even great quarterbacks play for other teams”. Cringy.

I feel Love, Herbert, Lawrence, Tua, Goff etc are bing puffed up by their agents to be paid elite money for above average play. I think right now Mahomes, Burrow and maybe Rodgers deserve elite money.

But to specifically answer your question is what universe is Dak being puffed up. When Dak refers to himself as being “great” then there’s a problem. I never heard any of the all time greats refer to themselves as great. Dak is not a HOFer, Dak is not an all time great, he’s not even the best QB in the league. He’s definitely not “great” in today’s NFL or in the history of the NFL.

Dak will get paid. I agree with that. I just hope his new contract becomes someone else's problem.

Todd France has certainly made the most money for his client, Dak. The mismanagement of funds to secure Dak's services needs to end.

Don't forget: the playoffs have never happened. Dak has never played in the playoffs. All his stats are impeccable, because Dak has never played in the playoffs. They don't exist.
Look up his qbr in the play offs amazing what numbers can say...
