Are you sure? I thought by the boxscore it was never fourteen, it was 42-21 and Mumbles said they were a turnover away from only being up 14.

I think you're right.....I was quoting "Mumbles" and screwed it up. :p:

...but not before you get me some tickets to the next Dropkick Murphys show in your neck of the woods. ;)

I didn't realize people outside this area knew who the Dropkick Murphys are. They seemed pretty specific to this area - especially since the whole Tessie thing with the Red Sox in 2004.

Don't be crazy. The Murphy's are legends. Tessie isn't even a good song. :laugh2:

According to Bill Belicheat it was cut to 21 (not 14) and it was running up the score no matter what way you want to look at it.

I disagree with that. We weren't messing around by letting them climb back into the game. Our record IN MIAMI hasn't exectly been great.

They are up by 21 points in the 4th and though they have had good success running the ball when they attempted to, came out throwing with Brady to get him his 6th TD. Maroney and Faulk combined for 12 carries in the game. That usually only happens when you've fallen behind and need to throw to get back in the game.

Let's be honest here. They had already pulled brady, but cassell threw a pick for a touchdown. Then Brady came back in... to shut down any momentum going the other way after that pick. Also, note that Sammy Morris was out and Maroney was on the Questionable list. still very dinged up. And the play against the cowboys... BB said he planned to run out the clock, but Wade called a time out. BB said he wasn't willing to turn the ball over on downs.

It was running up the score. Period.

im a die hard cowboys fan but
we are possibly witnessing the greatest offense in the history of the nfl right before our eyes. like a poster said before, its a thing of beauty. they are going to shatter records. brady is a freak as well as moss. perfect combo.

that said , i hope brady breaks his leg before he plays dallas in SB XLII:D

Tell the other team to stop trying to score and then we won't run the score up.

Like I said, only ignorant fans ...

Not true. Look around. You'll see that there are sane people that bring the other yahoos back down to earth when they start spouting that crapola.

Sure thing, Chico.

Fact is if it were the Fins that ran up the score on the Pats, you'd be angry about it. Cuz it WAS running up the score.

Don't want to throw ints for TDs? Run the freakin' ball and kill the clock.

Don't want to allow more TDs? Fine, keep your starting defense in.

But putting your starting qb back in the game and throwing another TD is running up the score. I don't expect a homer to see it that way though.

They were outscored 21-7 in the second half. How is that running up the score, no matter what way you look at it??? You want them to lie down in the second quarter? How insulting would that be to the opposition? The Dolphins scored two quick touchdowns after Brady and the defensive starters were replaced, so Belichick sent the starters back out to make sure it got no closer? How is that running up the score any way you look at it?? After responding to the Dolphins mini run, Brady purposely threw it to checkdown receivers on third and long to give the Dolphins easy (for most) opportunities to force the punt. And remember, the Pats' first two running backs are hurt.

I hate the whole running up the score BS. It's only running up the score when you kick a field goal with no time on the clock or keep the accelerator down for four full quarters in a route. The Patriots obviously let up on the accelerator drastically in the second half - thus the seven points.

Only losers complain about running up the score.

i dont know , people are going to try and shoot it down but its obvious. 4th quarter cowboys give it to barber and finish it off. pats try just as hard as they were theyre first offensive snap until there is 0:00 on the clock

Maybe PatsWin can explain what that fake spike and throw to the endzone was when his team was up by 21 or whatever it was...

That happened in the 2nd quarter, I don't think you can hold that against them.

NE was up by 21 with 12 minutes left in the game, went down the field and scored, I hardly call that running up the score, I call that stepping on their throat, but that's just my opinion.

So you're stomping the hell out of them, marching up and down the field and scoring on them at will, but you have to pull out some trick play from deep in the playbook to get your third (or fourth) TD against an 0-6 team?

Naw, that's more than just wanting another score.

Bringing your QB back in to get a 6th TD after sitting on the bench awhile is running up the score. I mean what is going to happen when Bill leaves Brady in there too long to get the nice blow out and the only big blow out is brady's knee.

In the 1st half, your entire playbook should still be open, no matter the score.

I can't stand the Pats just like everyone else, but I just did not see anything wrong with what they did.

Look at what the Texans did yesterday in the 4th quarter with Sage Rosenfels at quarterack, they scored 29 in the 4th. You don't ever want to give the other team any momentum.
