for the HELL we gave Jerry and Stevie hiring of Moore and Kitna...it SURE looks like they were savants SO FAR. Kitna has helped Dak make subtle changes and its made a world of difference. Chris Simms even talked about it last week.

Nobody's mentioned John Beck, but that's the guy who has been working with Dak on his mechanics the last two off-seasons, and even during the season last year. Beck's success with Dak is the reason Kitna said there was no reason to completely revamp Dak, but instead focus on the details. Dak has said that the mechanics work Kitna has been doing with him is based on the same concepts that Beck coaches, which is basically how to get the most torque possible for every throw, from every throwing angle -- either while stationary or moving in any direction.

Kitna went from High School Coach to the Pros. There's a lot of HS coaches that couldn't get into college, let alone take the leap to the NFL.

Of course he gets props.

Everyone is posting about when Kellen should get a raise and when Jerry needs to choose between him and Garrett.

news flash: if Dak were as inconsistent as he’d been the first 3 years, things would probably be better than they were but would be nowhere near where they are now.

Kitna fixing Daks mechanics and getting him to process faster is what’s making the huge difference. Kellen is certainly calling great games, but Kitna is getting Dak to be able to execute it. The deep ball is on point most times now and not ending up 30 yards into the stands like we saw with how many sideline passes last year.

also it’s easier to call long pass routes when the OL is giving you time which can be directly attributed to Fredericks return. 6 sacks through 2 games last year. Only 6 total pressure through 2 games this year.
If Moore leaves, Kitna could step right in.

I've seen plenty of credit being given to Kitna. I wouldn't hazard a guess on the percentage, but very often, when someone talks about Dak's improvement from last year they mention Kitna's influence. (At least, on this board. I don't know about the media.)

Dak said himself that he was processing things faster last year, under Kellen's watch, and even without Fredbeard it was a noticeable improvement. It seems both Kitna and Moore gave him a cog that makes the machine work, and if either cog was missing there would be a noticeable hitch.

Daks inconsistencies has been more to do with the Oline play, coaching, scheme, and lack of quality passing options than anything else.

THAT being said, Kitna has been incredible. COACHING MATTERS!!!

And its also natural maturing of a young QB.

Moore instills confidence in Dak by simply opening up the entire playbook.
I think this is very true. I would imagine Linehan’s excessive emphasis on caution and avoiding mistakes may have planted a seed of doubt in Dak’s mind, whereas Moore showing the confidence in Dak to do more has the opposite effect

I didn't know Kitna had control over Dak's brain. Incredible!
It's possible he's teaching Dak how to ignore the extraneous stuff on the field, giving him less to process. Also, repetition causes muscle memory, which alleviates the need to concentrate on mechanics as much.

And the team got a lot of flak on this site for both hirings. I actually do understand the concern with entrusting so much to people with so little coaching experience, but this highlights the reason it doesn’t make sense to rush to judgement, which is something so many posters feel compelled to do.
