Why no love for Kitna?

And the team got a lot of flak on this site for both hirings. I actually do understand the concern with entrusting so much to people with so little coaching experience, but this highlights the reason it doesn’t make sense to rush to judgement, which is something so many posters feel compelled to do.
To do both at the same time could've been disastrous, if the FO were as inept as some like to claim.

Everyone is posting about when Kellen should get a raise and when Jerry needs to choose between him and Garrett.

news flash: if Dak were as inconsistent as he’d been the first 3 years, things would probably be better than they were but would be nowhere near where they are now.

Kitna fixing Daks mechanics and getting him to process faster is what’s making the huge difference. Kellen is certainly calling great games, but Kitna is getting Dak to be able to execute it. The deep ball is on point most times now and not ending up 30 yards into the stands like we saw with how many sideline passes last year.

also it’s easier to call long pass routes when the OL is giving you time which can be directly attributed to Fredericks return. 6 sacks through 2 games last year. Only 6 total pressure through 2 games this year.
Kitmo, baaaaaaaabbbbbbbbyyyyyyy!!!!

The change in Dak's throwing motion, his improved footwork, throwing velocity and his accuracy is a credit to what Kitna has done for him. Additionally, Cooper Rush has made great strides in his improvement from last year to this one. Many kudos to Kitna for how our QBs have improved in the past year. The progress made in their performance in such a short period of time was surprising. ;)
For the first time in a long time, players are being developed here.

I think this is very true. I would imagine Linehan’s excessive emphasis on caution and avoiding mistakes may have planted a seed of doubt in Dak’s mind, whereas Moore showing the confidence in Dak to do more has the opposite effect

Nobody's mentioned John Beck, but that's the guy who has been working with Dak on his mechanics the last two off-seasons, and even during the season last year. Beck's success with Dak is the reason Kitna said there was no reason to completely revamp Dak, but instead focus on the details. Dak has said that the mechanics work Kitna has been doing with him is based on the same concepts that Beck coaches, which is basically how to get the most torque possible for every throw, from every throwing angle -- either while stationary or moving in any direction.

JOHN BECK? This s good info. I hadn't even heard of him. lol...It makes sense though. Between Kitna,Beck and Moore...they helped right the ship that is Dak. Sometimes it DOES take a village. To be clear, Dak has the gym rat mentality and is a freaking sponge. Wants to be better and means it. Its proving itself out.Kudos to the QB.

It's possible he's teaching Dak how to ignore the extraneous stuff on the field, giving him less to process. Also, repetition causes muscle memory, which alleviates the need to concentrate on mechanics as much.

Sure. But there is no improvement possible without Dak himself. You could have the best teacher in the world and never learn a thing.

I find it offensive that Dak is playing so well and the immediate reaction from a majority of fans is to attribute his success to someone other than him.

Kitna was always a gutsy QB that was never intimidated by other players, teams or games. I always admired him for that. It seems like some of his traits have rubbed off on Dak and that is a good thing to say the least.

Oh I think most people (myself included) give Dak 90 - 99% of the credit, but not everyone feels the need to say it every time, especially since this thread is about Kitna.

This was probably the more underrated hire. Especially since Kitna has been just preaching to him just rip it don't worry about it. Puts a lot of confidence in the player to not hold back and just let the ball fly. That's what we have seen early on.

That's fair.

I do think Kitna--or whoever has been working on Dak's mechanics--was a good addition. The difference between this year and last year has been pretty noticeable

I give him tons of credit but if you watched sports on local channel 5 , Newi talked about how Dak himself gave some credit to Kitna and KM

BUT he truly believes the QB coach he hired in the offseason and worked out privately with, is the one who actually changed his throwing motion and showed him the easier way to transition from PA and RPO to a throw.. I dont know his name but last week thats the story..

Dak used a private coach and the light came on..

all tis credit to KM Kitna etc may make some difference but the truth from Dak himself says its more his private coach and off season work..

Dak's throwing motion is light and day different. The moment I hear that Kitna was a big part of that is the day I'm singing his praises.

read my post, it was private QB coach that changed his motion in the off season before any OTA or MC..im sure Kitna and Moore helped a lot but Dak said it was his private coach in the offseason he worked hard to change his throwing motion..
