I've seen a lot of people give kitna credit here problem is he's back in the shadows and he doesn't call plays but look at the progression of Prescott that should tell the whole story I'm not sure John is looking for the Limelight either

Imo Kitna has been instrumental in cleaning up Daks foot work which used to drive me nuts with how bad it could get even when there was no pressure affecting him.
I suspect he has also helped Moore a bunch too
He’s a very experienced QB with a wealth of knowledge of NFL defenses

Kitna has helped Dak completely change (for the better) his throwing motion, release and footwork.

yes, it's true that Kitna has played a huge part in seemingly improved mechanics in Dak body of work - there are still a few ties where we see balls thrown behind receivers but so far not near as discouragingly as in the past, more so Dak is challenging the middle and deep seams and not showing the over cautious safeguard as in the past.

Kitna himself has been groomed and worked under the brilliance of Mike Martz and much of what he learned as quick set up release, progression, huddle pace, getting ball to best weapons and distributing to several targets, and a much more over the top, push-the ball-downfield mentality as well as aforementioned throwing mechanic working you just mentioned has a lot to do with what Kitna learned thru Martz and what kitna is putting into what he learned and applying it to working with Dak and getting quick learning and results from it,

Kitna's praise will come when the Cowboys face the Rams and the Eagles and Dak has to maintain accurate foot movement in the pocket, maintain his form under pressure and throw the ball in tight windows under duress.
Right now, it has been all about play calling, a great pocket and minimal pressure on Dak.

don't be surprised that should Kellen Moore leave as OC , Kitna or Brad Mussenheir could get the next OC job here .

.. or could there be an opening for a OC , could we see Kitna or Mussheimer leave for an upper job elsewhere for another NFL team ( provided they get Cowboys permission)

when you have mass success there will always be those that want a piece of your pie. ..

Moore was a QB coach last year
That doesn’t mean every QB coach is cut out to be an OC though. I’m not saying Kitna isn’t, by the way (or that he is either), I’m just saying being good in one role doesn’t necessarily mean a person will be good at another.

Everyone is posting about when Kellen should get a raise and when Jerry needs to choose between him and Garrett.

news flash: if Dak were as inconsistent as he’d been the first 3 years, things would probably be better than they were but would be nowhere near where they are now.

Kitna fixing Daks mechanics and getting him to process faster is what’s making the huge difference. Kellen is certainly calling great games, but Kitna is getting Dak to be able to execute it. The deep ball is on point most times now and not ending up 30 yards into the stands like we saw with how many sideline passes last year.

also it’s easier to call long pass routes when the OL is giving you time which can be directly attributed to Fredericks return. 6 sacks through 2 games last year. Only 6 total pressure through 2 games this year.
good post. the changes in dak are very noticeable and attributable to his dedication and superior coaching. kitna is very much responsible for the changes.

JOHN BECK? This s good info. I hadn't even heard of him. lol...It makes sense though. Between Kitna,Beck and Moore...they helped right the ship that is Dak. Sometimes it DOES take a village. To be clear, Dak has the gym rat mentality and is a freaking sponge. Wants to be better and means it. Its proving itself out.Kudos to the QB.
@Zman5 posted this video late last season, of Cam Cameron talking about how much Dak's mechanics had progressed (particularly his footwork) because the team had brought Beck in to work with him during the season. This is all pre-Kitna.

Then Dak got in another entire off-season of work with Beck, along with a new QB coach and new OC.

I agree and forgot about Kit. He's done a great job with Dak.

How do you know Kinta fixed Dak? How do you know if other QB coaches could not get same result from Dak?

That’s is why I don’t give Kitna love. You just cannot pin the Cowboys success or even fully Dak’s success on Kitna. Sure, maybe he is helping Dak or at least not hurting his performance. Kitna was not an exceptional QB or anything. It is the Offensive play calling and play design that is making the key difference and that is obviously Kellen Moore.

Same reason why there's no love for Garrett & Prescott. It's obvious some of our fanbase hates Dallas Cowboys quarterbacks no matter how good the are.
That is complete crap. We like wins and above all else, Championships. Dak had glaring flaws in his game.

They were glaring, obvious issues. He and the coaches have worked hard to overcome the challenges.
