Yes, I do. It was a good trade at the time. Then Jerry messed it up.Agreed
Do you think they took a chance on Lance so they wouldn’t have to pay Dak if he had worked out ?
Draft grades after 2 years don't matter.IMO they just jumped on something they perceived as value. They had a very high grade on him. Me and alot of others here liked him alot coming out too. They didnt put enough into scouting him as a pro player. Under 50% catch percentage, amd didn't improve year 2. I actually think it got worse here.
He is basically their 4th rounder, but they lose two years of control. That and his upside now appeara to be below average #3
Be careful. the Rush Crush gang is about to attack youRush was throwing him some crap.
The better term is foolhearty doused in some maniacal delusion. That said, they could get bailed out if he comes close to being decent this year. Who's throwing the ball to him will matter alot.It wasn't bad
It was stupid
It was Jerry making a mo e to show he is doing something and bring crowd back to the stadiumI just don’t understand why it was done. Was it for 2024 - meaning the rest of the season in hopes of making the playoffs? Was it a rebuilding piece for 2025 and beyond?
What is doubly baffling is Mingo has never done anything of merit in this league yet. The Cowboys acted like they traded for an immediate impact player. In reality they acquired an underachieving player who thus far would have to be classified as nothing more than a project.
Oh they already have lol. “Dak can’t do much better” comments have already come lol. Just stupidity.Be careful. the Rush Crush gang is about to attack you
Definitely risky and foolish, unless we get bailed out and he is good.Draft grades after 2 years don't matter.
He had NFL film and was obvious he isn't any good. Samuel's gets traded for 5th. We pay a 4th for a players who was 5th on the depth chart on a crappy team.
He has two years left on his rookie deal.Bob, if I'm right, we got Mingo on the last year of his rookie deal I think. So this year we have him for peanuts. A rental. But if he does well, we could extend him.
Ty. I knew it was something like thatHe has two years left on his rookie deal.
Especially since the trade occurred after it was known that your starting QB was done for the year. They could have traded for Jamaar Chase and it still wouldn't have made much of a difference in the outcome of their season. They then doubled down by not playing Lance to see if they could salvage some value for the 4th they gave up for him.I just don’t understand why it was done. lol. Shocking you’re here waving Pom Poms for this kid.He runs a 4.46
Built like Dez.
Give a kid a chance.
Big Mike didn’t even try to use the kid.
Duncan I hope he pans out. But the issue to me isn’t that we acquired him - although I wouldn’t have. The issue is paying a 4th round pick for a guy who likely would have been released this off-season. You don’t use a 4th round pick on a total project player which is what this kid is.He runs a 4.46

If Mingo doesn't get targets and produce, this will haunt the Jones clan all year.
Why the Jonathan Mingo trade could haunt Dallas in 2025
3/1/2025
The new league year begins in a few weeks, which means many transactions will occur throughout the NFL. Trades will almost certainly happen. However, one trade in particular the Dallas Cowboys made last season may have lingering effects at the worth possible time.
The trade in question is the Cowboys acquiring Jonathan Mingo at the trade deadline from the Carolina Panthers for a fourth-round pick in this upcoming draft. The trade caught many off guard, likely because the Cowboys aren’t usually active during the deadline. Secondly, the compensation given for Mingo was laughable.

big mike did not want mingo to begin with because he had no use for a wr in a midseason trade. with prescott out by time this trade happened made no sense at all.He runs a 4.46

No doubt the kid has speed and some upside. But NFL history is littered with players with great speed and other skills that could not translate to football skill. Speed is a great skill for a WR. But that alone won’t make you a good NFL receiver.
