I expect Mingo to show signs of life in his 3rd year. Let's not forget about the dumpster fire he was drafted in to or the circus he was traded to. Maybe we can see a sense of unity being built in Dallas now with the new hires.
I think we will see Mingo carve out a roll similar to what Noah Brown provided when he got an opportunity to play.
But the scheme will be different for Mingo than what Noah was involved in with us. The Cardinals ran a lot of 12 and 13 personal with heavy run looks and having a big bodied WR who can block is needed.
Especially 13 personnel. it's a run-first package that can involve stretch plays to either side, power calls off tackle, or motioning TEs/WR's as trappers on “wham” designs.
This package can also be used to force defenses into adding more players to the box. Teams can fake the run to one side while having the QB keep it the opposite way or run a play-action concept.
Just a little something to think about...Is Trey Lance better suited for this scheme?
