Why When Romo Gets Injured It's the race to whom can make the "funniest" meme?

It's the race to whom can make the "funniest" meme all over social media and the internet in general. Trashing him and the Cowboys in the process. And their fans.

But the second someone like Teddy B or another gets a serious injury, the tone is totally different. If you dare poke fun at his injury or talk down on him, you are a despicable person. Do it with Romo, you are a comedian in the long line to make fun of him.

I'm all for moving on from him as many others are but I just don't get the double standard in these instances.

I've been a Cowboys fan since 1978. One thing you learn to grow is Rhino skin. If you don't, they'll eat you alive. They hate us man. Always have, always will: embrace it.

Oh I am definitely used to it by now. If they lose, fine. Give us hell. Romo throwing picks? Sure. Dez not catching it? Have at it.

But to make memes and trashing a player because of injuries is classless. I am beyond frustrated with Romo and his injuries but will never make fun of them. Nor will I with Teddy B. I hate seeing injuries because after awhile it dilutes the game with too many backups in key spots. And ruined seasons before they even take off are terrible for any team.

You just gave to ignore it. It's not worth our time to defend Romo when they make memes because nothing you say will sway their opinion.

Though the family guy / Romo meme is quite funny.

I dispise them being a Vancouver Canucks fan haha. They get consistent top tv time despite, like you said, not winning anything in years. But they get the ratings so it continues
You despise the leafs for getting airtime and not having won anything in years, but support the Cowboys? Do you see the irony in that? I am a huge Leafs fan, and Cowboys fan. Imagine how I FEEL lol

There has always been a double standard re Romo and I do not know why
You may not understand because you recognize his talent and humanity. Some people don't recognize either quality or ignore both.

But the question of why should be posed to those who overly criticize Romo. It wouldn't be hard. Forget the local and national media. Forget about other teams' fans. Shoot. The question of why can be asked of some fans of his own team. I personally know several Cowboys fans who find enjoyment in disparaging Romo memes as much as those outside cowboyszone who don't like his franchise, his style of play, his personality, etc. Some just can't stand him for (in my opinion) highly illogical reasons.

This post makes me glad I didn't put you on the ignore list...

Nice job.

dating Jessica Simpson didn't help and his first highlight was a famous football folly with the missed snap

And people forget Romo did his job as the quarterback on that clutch drive yet only failed as the holder (dropping a football that looked like it was soaked in vegetable oil).

And if you're young and famous as Romo was in 2006-07, why not date pretty celebrity girls if you can? Other QB's have done it. It's just that Romo, as a Cowboy, gets the negative press.

I will say that it's just part of the hate you deal with. That said, the meme of Sally Fields bonivia ad saying stronger bones than Tony Romo is one of the funnier things I've seen in awhile.

I know. I know someone who hates him with a passion. I said you must be happy he is hurt, he said no, now who will throw late INTs for them. Of course, this is also a guy who said that Emmitt Smith's record was meaningless because he didn't break Walter Payton's record while in his prime.

If they hate us or love us it's still an obsession.
Their memes reveal more about them than it does about Tony or the other players.
It confirms who they are without knowing who they are.

Envy. Not for what we've accomplished over the past few decades (which is not much of anything) but because we stay relevant and at the tip of everyone's tongues despite our mediocrity. Every opposing fan has a friend or family member that's a Cowboys fan.
It's amazing how something so non-threatening can be so intimidating.

Because ppl view Romo as a joke. But I don't see anyone poking fun at his injury tho. They may call him brittle tho.

It's corny to me anytime someone finds joy or humor in the injury of any athlete. Be it Romo, or Victor Cruz or Junior Gallette or any Eagles player. Doesn't matter the athlete or sport it is always unfortunate to see any of them get injured.
Depravity.
