For a guy I thought wouldn't make it out of camp last year, he did well for himself.

I don't think any of us were expecting J.J. Wilcox to make the cut last season.

And from things I've seen, he was one of the final decisions with the team attempting to line up a trade.

Wilcox played much better last year and he was the only thumper in the secondary, which I will miss, but there was no decision to be made with the money Tampa Bay put on the table.

I don't trust Jeff Heath, he was behind Wilcox on the depth chart for a reason, and Kavon Frazier remains an unknown.

There is work to be done.

Honestly, given the team was likely to lose two Safties and possibly two CBs this offseason, we didn't protect ourselves enough. We just got lucky.

It'd have been worse, too, if we didn't hit on Brown.

Tactically, going RB and injured LB at #4 and #34 didn't make a lot of sense. BPA is one thing, but teams need to try to make need coincide with best available when they can.
:( :(

At the risk of offending someone, I present to you a complete moron....

Miquel is nuts. Does anyone on this earth think that if we picked Ramsey instead of Zeke that we would have won 13 games last year. Some Folks need to think before they tweet and confirm they don't have a clue.

RB is the most fungible position in football. Spending a 4 there was stupid. But we've had this discussion. And we won 13 games largely because of the efficiency of Dak and the passing game. Pass differential. Always go there first.

Yes but he fits the profile. Young, coming off his best year. Let's not pretend we all would not have blinked if he left last offseason.

I've always liked Wilcox, just never thought he was a FS.

Can't say that this player loss bothers me. Wilcox is one of the least instinctive players I can recall in Dallas on the back end. He improved this year to be an average player. The one thing that they lack that needs to be added is someone who can lay the wood. For 4M per, the Bucs can have him.

Heath can lay the wood.

There are 31 General Managers who probably would totally disagree with you. Get one of them to say they would rather have Ramsey instead of Zeke and I'll change my opinion.

Ask them if they'd rather have an elite corner/Safety or an elite RB.

They'd say CB/Safety.

Especially if you have the best offensive line in football.

You'll never be. Seriously.

If Zeke's year and his obvious importance to last year's success didn't do it nothing will.
I'd rather have Langford in the 3rd than Zeke 4th overall.

Or Murray in the 3rd for that matter.

It's too early to say that.

Anywho, 4mill per? Yeah, no thanks. Props to him though I guess.

I don't know why people are freaking out. I've said it before, we just found our franchise QB (thats what it looks like anyway). This year is not a "must win" year, we had a bunch of dead weight on defense and instead of just spending cap for the sake of it, there's going to be a serious youth movement on defense this year from this incredibly deep draft + returning players.

We might have the youngest defense in the league this year, and we'll see what we have. They might suck, that's okay. Next year we'll have the most cap in recent memory, and we can go from there.

You don't spend a bunch on bad contracts the year after you find your rookie franchise QB, especially if you're serious about wanting to compete for most of his career.

The definition of madness is resigning the same players from a defense that struggled keeping offenses from scoring yet expecting a different result.

If you want to get better, try something different.
Exactly............all these dudes were on the field getting embarrassed by Rogers and now they want the Brinks truck to back up to their front door?

I don't think so.............let all these JAGs walk, not like having them ever won us anything.

Didn't want to lose him. I've got us 7-9 now.

Yup...this one stings. Think his best football is still ahead. But we just had to have Nolan Carroll:rolleyes::lmao:

Carroll signed a three-year, $10 million contract with the Cowboys on Friday, David Helman of DallasCowboys.com reports.

Wilcox signed for... NFL.com’s Mike Garafolo says (via Twitter) that it will be a two-year deal worth up to $8.5MM.

So.... we let our 26-year-old safety walk to sign a 30 year old CB. We wasted 1.5 million more over 2 years. You just can't make this stuff up.

I think I would have rather have had Carr @ this point:omg:

Trust the process....right???

Why don't you get a quote from any GM and post it saying what you are saying about our specific situation. Post those results and then we can discuss based on facts and not just your opinion that frankly no one else shares on this forum.
