Will Anthony Fasano be better then Jason Witten?

I don't see where you got that Fasano doesn't have soft hands, I believe he was thought to have had the best of all the TEs in the draft.

I remember that being the case as well. Very good hands. While he's considered to be a solid blocker, he was thought of as a pass catching TE coming out of college... in the Jason Witten mold. Seems like I read somewhere that he was a better blocking Jason Witten, but I can't remember where.

Didn't mean to project Fasano as stone hands. He just isn't of the caliber of Witten.

I was just thinkin',Fasano was drafted higher then Witten so what are the chances he would/could be better?

If he is better then Witten this could be one hell of a duo....also what area's do you think he might be better then Witten in?

have fun....

WOW
Ryan Leaf was drafted Tom Brady

Not that I'm disagreeing but Todd Heap doesn't get nearly the press that the other guys get. I think Heap has had the worst QB help of all of the above. I'm sure McNair will find him early and often this season.

Well, only Gonzalez has had a steady QB for years. Witten has had Quincy, Vinny, and had Drew but had to block more than the rest on the list.
Even Shockey has a struggling young QB

Heap is nice, but jsut bc he hasnt had a QB doesnt mean he would do more with Vick, Eli Manning, Vinny/Quincy ect.

You could put him at 5 though, its debatable. The top 4 are solid though IMO

One can only hope so. ;)
I'm talking strictly hands that his are considered to be in Witten's class.

I think that comparing the two coming out of college, they are very similar. Even Witten was compared to Bavaro. Both have soft hands, similar builds with some blocking tools. Coming out Witten's speed was considered good but not great and he isn't as explosive as other TEs in the nfl. Even though with Fasano and TOs presence that could change.

Fasano is very similar. But yes, he does have to prove it in the nfl.

That's what I'm trying to get across. I watched the kid as often as possible and whomever was comparing him to Witten (soft hands) I would have to disagree with. Just curious as to who compared Witten to Bavaro.

Will Anthony Fasano be better then Jason Witten?

No *** way.
As a matter of fact... I'm afraid Fasano will be a disappointment to many.

we can get on fans that compare a rookie who's never seen the field to an all-pro and all it does is set fans up for disappointment. now that MR PARCELLS has spoken he's bavaro, most fans probably will be disappointed.

that said he can still be a hell of a player for us but i'm willing to bet no matter how good, some will say he wasn't all bp said he would be.

No, he will not be better than Witten.

But we have added another big TE target for Bledsoe.

BP was actually entertaining the idea of taking WItten in the 2nd, he passed because he felt a lineman (Al Johnson) was a more pressing need, he was fortunate that the rest of the league had a brain-fart after that until our pick in the 3rd

to answer your question...no, Fasano is, and will probably always be a better blocker than WItten, he's built lower to the ground and has excellent technique, but Witten's speed and athleticsm set him apart, and I think in a big way, both have great hands though and are smooth route-runners

Also I would love to know how Witten really feels about the signing of Fasano...

probably the same way he felt when he decided to suit up and play with his jaw wired shut a couple of year ago...nothing
