Will Dez ever be elite again?

Dez should be expected to have more than one good game every once in a while.

Yes, Dez should just warp to other parts of the field when Dak goes full Tim Tebow when throwing.

Yes, a ball being 5 yards off the mark is on Dez. CBs pretty much humping Dez's arm today is on Dez. Dak missing him WIDE OPEN in the end zone is on Dez.

What is the point of watching games if you guys are just going to come onto this forum and toss out raw statistics and blatantly wrong statements?

Unreal.

Right, we have some like you who still thinks drafting Zeke was a mistake because you thought McFadden had a great season in 2015 and you have those who want to bench Dak and go back to Romo.

Lol, literally every sentence you just typed is a lie.

This reaction is getting tiring from you excuse makers. 3 drops today. Whines and complains to the point where he takes himself out the game mentally. If he's not the guy on the play, he loafs and jogs. Pearson has already ripped him for it after Week 1.

He has been terrible this year. He's out 4th best WR so far.

Not even close to worth his contract. He's a fraud.

You don't know what a drop is. Two were pass interferences, the other EVEN DAK POINTED AT HIMSELF AND SAID IT WAS ON HIM. Haha

Spin, spin, spin.

Why do we have fans that find something wrong with everything? It drives me crazy. Dez didn't have a good game. Every elite wide receiver has a bad game. It happens and that's fine. Other players are stepping up. Julio Jones had a 300 yard game. He had 1 catch for 16 yards the game before and 2 catches for 29 the game after.

Maybe dak was throwing to the spot where dez was supposed to be on his route...he floats his routes always has. has cost romo several ints

Dude, please. Your expectations of Dez can't be this low.
This is what I find interesting. He's being paid and talked about like he's one of the greatest receivers in the game, yet people are defending him by talking about how he draws double coverage and had 4 catches on 14 targets last week. That's all you got?

  • Before today's game Dez ranked 79 out of 82 receivers for catch rate. (41%) He was near the bottom of the league last year as well.

  • Dez is our home run hitter, but he's not a guy that Dak will view as a high-percentage target. Because Dez cannot consistently get open.

  • Dez can deliver big plays and his value is in that role. He has elite skills at out-batting dbs for a ball in the air. He is good in YAC. In many other facets Dez is not even average.

  • Only a quarterback like Romo can make Dez work as a regular go-to target. You won't see Dak targeting Dez a lot on a consistent basis. Dak likes high-percentage football.

I am not going to bash Dez, however some FACTS

All but two of Dak's incompletions were throws to Dez, two right in his hands.

Also, the first time this season the offense looked subpar was when he was inserted into the lineup vs Philly.

I don't see how anyone can dispute either one of those.

Lol, literally every sentence you just typed is a lie.

I asked you several days ago if you had it to do all over again would you draft Zeke and use the 4th overall pick on another position and you didn't respond. It's in the Rant Zone in the thread titled "Drafting Zeke was football stupid." lol You argued in August we should have stayed with McFadden and used the 4th overall pick on another position. True or false?

Or or maybe a freakin rookie QB who was off the mark the entire game going to other WRs as well was just making poor passes. Maybe that's the actual reason?

I know, Daky poo doesn't throw bad passes. Spin, spin, spin.

If he quits trying to get Tony his job back (half of Dak's 6 incompletions today were courtesy of Dez), Dez might be back. He definitely needs to get his head screwed on straight before the Steelers game next week.

Dez's lazy route early in the game was pretty bad. I was wondering if he was hurt.

Dez is what he is. A talented head case. He's so easily taken out of a game by a defender willing to battle and trash talk.

He'd be more productive with Romo on the field though. He's not a guy who looks open very often. Romo understands this and also has the accuracy to get him the football where he needs it. Prescott doesn't.

Lucid post. Say something worthwhile or don't post.

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. I could say the same exact thing about the thread itself. I always love these trolls who like start dumb threads, and then pick a fight with someone who calls them out on it!!!

Now the conspiracy theories have started. This thread is now for the low IQ people. Have fun folks! I'm out.

Not with #21 and #4 throwing to the receiver that produces that day (Witten.)

That's what I love about Dak. If you're not catching it and making plays, he slowly but surely stops forcing it and just throwing to whoever's open.

This is a fair, even handed assessment.

Dez brings some great things to the table. His TD against Philly last week was nothing short of beastly.

But a lot of aspects of his game are average at best. His production has been woeful since he got his contract. I don't understand how saying this is controversial (or worse, some grave offense) to a lot of fans.
