Will Gallup Matter?

Parsons is one player without a lot of help. Have the defenders fixed their sloppy tackling?

Ronnie, if we see th lack of a rush, we are going to see Ryan lighting up that secondary with Ridley, Gage and Pitts is just a nightmare waiting to happen and it's about time for his coming out party.

This is a game that the winner might have to get north of 40.

Oh if we don't get any pressure no Ryan he absolutely will light us up. Pitts has already had his coming out party.. I think he's already had a 150 yard game or some such. Kearse better be ready.. I'm sure the tackling and rallying to the ball will be pounded home this whole week. I doubt we see another game with this many missed tackles the rest of the season. Hopefully they've learned that NFL running backs don't generally let you just yank the ball out of their arms so you better focus on tackling them first, second and third. I think the defense was thoroughly embarrassed (just like the offense) and will be bringing a decimal point higher level of effort into this game. By the way what is the status on Ridley? I have not been watching any of the talking head shows this week so didn't hear whether he is back or not.

You really think he was hurt? Hmmm.. Sorry I didn't see it.. Of course I cannot dismiss the factor of the calf being in his head even if he was 100% healthy.. But he ran out of trouble 12-15 times in that game and never looked to be favoring the calf at all while running. But again, throwing the ball is different.. If he felt a twinge on one of his early throws it's certainly possible that it affected his throws if only subconsciously.. but how does his calf being in his head explain all the dropped balls? At least 4 of which hit guys in the numbers.. And weren't at least 3 of them on 3rd down to kill drives? We can't act like those didn't have an impact on the game because they gave the ball right back to Denver's offense which had figured out that they could run right over our defense. Keep the ball for a few more downs in those situations would have done more than just helped the offensive numbers.. it would have helped the defense too.
It was never my opinion that Dak was the only reason we lost last week. The dropped balls hurt. The D getting run over hurt. I can't explain it all but I do think Dak playing hurt was a factor and I don't see that being resolved by letting him play hurt some more.

Well they have not listed him on the injury report this week that I am aware of so I have to assume that calf is as close to normal as it's going to get during an NFL season so it's up to him to make the mental adjustment to it at this point. If he has to alter his plant foot a little so be it. He will now have had two solid weeks to work on that. It may well be that allowing to work through whatever the calf was doing in his head was part of the reason he was allowed to finish that abortion of a game.

Ridley has removed himself from football for a while to address his mental health.

Maybe Dak or someone in power needs to remove Dak from football so he can address his mental health as well. IMO, that mental adjustment you recommend him making is not in his capability at this time.

Huh? I don't think understanding that you're going to feel a little discomfort when you perform a task is an impossible thing to do. Yes it takes some time to adjust.. but we've all done it.. You hurt one body part you use to do a thing and you do it a slightly different way to compensate. If you had told me that it kept Dak from practicing all week like the week before the Philly game in 2019 I'd be worried.. but in this instance.. he will have three solid days of practice to get used to whatever that weird feeling is when he plants on that calf and still make throws. Maybe they babied it too much last week and he didn't find out that it would be an issue until facing live bullets. They and he have more knowledge this week and should be able to make the adjustment.

No doubt, Dak's physically well enough to practice. I'm not talking about that. When I mention mental health you ignore it and replay talking about what he is doing physically. That's illogical IMO. Dak needs to sit despite his objection.

Let's just hope Dak gets his "mojo" back, regardless, of what might have caused his troubles last week.

I feel, perhaps, it was a deadly combination of being rusty from the layoff and poor pass protection.

I believe it could be a wise decision to see how he does in the 1st half and insert Rush if it goes poorly.

So hope is the plan? Waiting until the 2nd half to sit a hurt QB is a bad plan. He'll just hurt himself more. His performance last week is all that needed to be seen to know he is playing hurt and will only hurt this team playing that way. He needs time to heal despite his vigorous objection.

I think Gallup and Wilson are same type of receivers.
Little redundant to have both.

He was doing very well and was in talks for MVP or was it comeback player of the year. And may still get it. Last game he played was injuring the calf throwing the game winning TD in OT. Let’s hope last week was a fluke. I didn’t like the way he was acting. It was a total reversal from the way he was playing. Could the calf injury been worse than we thought. He was off more than any game before this year. Who knows but I didn’t like it.
yeah, he'll get comeback player of the year. Only competition there is Joe Burrow and Joe Burrow has been very average outside of a few plays.

No, Wilson does more... ST, can throw the ball, plays slot as well as on the outside. Gallup is a one-trick pony, he just does that one trick very well. ;)

Lucky for us we have both for this game. That Turner kid looked good last week. At least he tried and got open. Dak found him.

Do we have both? Wilson is dealing with an injured shoulder from the Broncos game. I'm not positive he'll be active.

last week was the first game where he had some pressure and he choked from fear. if Atlanta pressures him like that, the EMTs will need to be called to see if they can fix the choking.

Are you joking. Wow. Well Turner looked good last week. Is Brown still around. Time to get Shultz and Jarwin back in.
