Will Gallup Matter?

People are doing the same with Dak.. how should we describe those people?
Prescott has been hit or miss this season. Definitely not an MVP type of season even heading into last week. He's averaged about 3 TD and 1 INT every game, solid but not amazing. Turnovers have been an issue. He's not putting up nearly the numbers of what say, Brady has done this year so far. Cowboys are 1-0 without him. Prescott has been roughly Derek Carr this year.

Yes, and thinking outside the box since we can't seem to run-block for anybody...I say let's go all in on the "run-n-shoot". Put Coop, CD, Gallup and Wilson out there and go 4 wide. Schultz and Zeke in for blitz pick up and let #4 be the next Warren Moon. How bout?

You are clearly math impaired so let he help you. Dak has 18 TDs and 5 INTs .. So it's actually 3.60 to 1.. which is actually closer to 4 to 1. That "solid but not amazing" TD/INT ratio would rank him in the top 4-5 in NFL history.. But you're right.. not amazing at all. And given that Brady has played one more game I would expect his volume numbers to be higher.. However Dak has a higher passer rating and a higher yards per attempt and a higher completion percentage. But we know how much you hate Dak so you probably aren't aware of those facts. Glad I could help.

Derek Carr huh? So in your estimation.. Dak having 5 more TD passes and 2 fewer INTs doesn't even matter.. Because YOU say so.. You should really research your arguments better.. Then again it wouldn't be true trolling if it could be backed up with facts now would it.

Flag, 12 men on the field.

Michael Gallup is finally being activated this week. We've missed his ability to be a long-ball receiving threat. But the question I have for you is with Dak overthrowing his targets, will Gallup even matter? If Dak can't connect with his deep target then how does Gallup being activated become something the Falcons have to be concerned about?

It’s been ONE game with Dak overthrowing receivers, it hasn’t been a pattern this season. With Gregory’s injury I’m more concerned about the defense.

Dak has had one bad game, I doubt it continues. If it does we can revisit. He’s one of the most accurate passers in the league usually
There is a reason one of the most accurate passers in the league suddenly plays so bad for an entire game. Whatever that reason is needs to be determined and eliminated. Just assuming it's an isolated innocent doesn't explain why he was bad the entire game. It may be a more permeant condition until someone takes his bad performance more seriously.

Are you of the mind that Dak and the team don't take this performance seriously? Have you ever played on a team that got its *** kicked by an inferior opponent? NOTHING gets your attention faster than that. I guarantee you the Cowboys and Dak will be turning over every stone trying to determine what the hell went wrong last Sunday. Just because fans assume it's an isolated incident and are blowing it off doesn't mean the people actually involved in the game do.

Yeah unfortunately we won't know until about 12:15 on Sunday if Dak and the rest of the guys are going to get back to normal. Gonna be hard to wait patiently.. but what choice do we have?
Was hoping to hear more from the players this week about the game. Maybe they are concentrating on practice. They better be massaging the calves.

If we are to assume Prescott is going to overthrow all his deep balls, no WR matters.

Gallup is a very good #2WR and weapon and adding him to Cooper, Lamb, Wilson, Turner and Schultz along with then 2 RB's is a shot in the arm right now with the defense hurting.

This game Sunday has all the look of a shootout.

They've addressed it in their weekly media duties on dallascowboys.com. Guys are mad about losing and know that performance was unacceptable. Not panicking but sounds like they are getting refocused. That bodes well. They just need to bring that to the game Sunday.

Not if Parsons can break Ryan in half early in the game.. We know Ryan will throw you a couple if you pressure him so I say go after him early and often. On our side Moore and Dak need to get the offense into a rhythm early.. If we have a 4th and short don't get greedy.. Take the short throw that moves the chains and if we do run, make it out of the Mac Package and slam into the damn pile. I don't like using slide step blocking in short yardage. Too easy to get the line knocked back in your face when you have guys standing up instead of firing out. That's what blew up the run on the first series.

That performance by Dak tells me he played hurt and it hurt the team. So what's the plan this week against ATL? They are letting Dak play hurt again. So how serious are they about Dak's performance? It's like they are afraid to sit him again. He's already informed the media he's not letting them sit him again as if he's in charge of that decision.

You really think he was hurt? Hmmm.. Sorry I didn't see it.. Of course I cannot dismiss the factor of the calf being in his head even if he was 100% healthy.. But he ran out of trouble 12-15 times in that game and never looked to be favoring the calf at all while running. But again, throwing the ball is different.. If he felt a twinge on one of his early throws it's certainly possible that it affected his throws if only subconsciously.. but how does his calf being in his head explain all the dropped balls? At least 4 of which hit guys in the numbers.. And weren't at least 3 of them on 3rd down to kill drives? We can't act like those didn't have an impact on the game because they gave the ball right back to Denver's offense which had figured out that they could run right over our defense. Keep the ball for a few more downs in those situations would have done more than just helped the offensive numbers.. it would have helped the defense too.

Parsons is one player without a lot of help. Have the defenders fixed their sloppy tackling?

Ronnie, if we see th lack of a rush, we are going to see Ryan lighting up that secondary with Ridley, Gage and Pitts is just a nightmare waiting to happen and it's about time for his coming out party.

This is a game that the winner might have to get north of 40.

He was doing very well and was in talks for MVP or was it comeback player of the year. And may still get it. Last game he played was injuring the calf throwing the game winning TD in OT. Let’s hope last week was a fluke. I didn’t like the way he was acting. It was a total reversal from the way he was playing. Could the calf injury been worse than we thought. He was off more than any game before this year. Who knows but I didn’t like it.

Just put the pedal down. They made those big splash plays but couldn’t string it together for a scoring drive.

Maybe. We need to sustain drives. Quick score are nice but we need to keep our Defense off the field. A nice run game will help. Line up and run behind Martin. Use McGovern for FB if needed. I am assuming they will stack the box. If we can run anyways then we win. Pollard will be needed. Elliot is dinged. But won’t stop him.
