First, I'm hoping Dak bounces back from his interception troubles and plays great. I hope he plays so well that I say that I'm glad Jones paid him that big contract. I haven't said that yet. If he plays awesome and this team has a shot at the NFCC, then I'll shut up.
...
However, if he stinks up the place, if his interception problem ends up as bad or worse than last year, then McCarthy should pull him. Put in Cooper Rush. I know that would not make Dak happy, but this game isn't about his happiness. It's a meritocracy, and if some other player gives you a better chance to win, you need to go with that player.
...
Again, I'm not sitting here hoping that Dak stinks up the place. I want him to play well. I'm talking about ONLY if he plays really terrible.
In years past no, but I think with this DEFENSE and how they're built, there will be some more issues than just he and the so called diggs issue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If we start 0-5 and Dak and the offense look this bad.... no MM will not be the coach making the QB desicion, your HC takes over playcalling and wrecks the offense and the franchise QB... the first pull is going to be made by the GM and it wont be the QB..
True! He'll be rewarded with a new contract 50+ million

Not what i ment, the question was does MM have the balls to pull Dak, Im saying if the offense goes this south after he takes over the playcalling, he will not be the coach pulling the QB.

The Pressure is on him like white on rice.
I expect Dak to implode this coming season big time as he doesn't have the talent or the mental steel to keep this job much longer.
Once the boos and the garbage start again it wouldn't surprise me at all if Dakko hits the bench.
Yes, you all remember this one right?

Yall are delusional if you believe there is a better option on this roster. He's a top 10 qb in the league, whether you like him or not.

Rush ain't it.

When we draft some actual talent at the position come back, and we can have a big boy discussion.

Problem is that Rush isn't a good enough QB to get us back in the game if we're down by that much. That's why Jerry should be improving the backup QB position.
That's a bigger issue I mean there are 32 teams, 16 of which probably wish they had a better starter, there may be 12 solid quarterbacks in the NFL that can win games and then it starts to dilute down to 16 and after that its not good..

again, seriously you want us to have two quarterbacks that can win games when there are 32 teams that don't have a quarterback that can actually win a game they're playing that whole quarterback carousel... The reality of the NFL for most teams that have a shot in the playoffs or for a Super Bowl you know that are considered contenders if they lose their starter for any considerably amount of time it's most likely over season probably done... It's not all cases but most yes if you lose your starting quarterback your chances go down tenfold..

Exactly!!! there are at least 12 teams who would like to HAVE a QB starting they like... again Rush gave every GM in the league good film last year and not 1 called to get him in camp for a chance to start on the cheap...

Some fans seem to forget that the last game Rush started, he completed less than 50% of his passes and threw three INT's.

Dak has thrown three INT's twice in his career of 97 regular season and 6 postseason starts. That's less than 2% of his starts. Rush has thrown three INT's in 20% of his starts.

If McCarthy pulls Dak because he is struggling then he deserves to be fired.

We’re gonna have a 14 page thread based off a hypothetical. How bout this one, what’s the difference? If Dak had an MVP type season, won the superbowl, was first team all pro, threw for 6k and 45 TDs , would all of y’all shut up about Dak? Nope… he still wouldn’t be good enough for those of you would immediately ask, can he do it again?

Look for him to get injured again as subconsciously he will make this a reality to "escape" what folks are seeing on the field.
It has worked for him in the past and I expect him to use it once again.
so you think Dak subconsciously let his ankle get snapped so that he could avoid being exposed as a subpar qb to the fans? :lmao:

This isn't a troll post. I've posted here for decades, and have donated money to this site. No quarterback should be guaranteed a starting position. There's a point where a QB should get pulled if he plays bad enough. It may be tough to determine that point, but any coach is foolish to stick with a QB whom he can't win with. I would say if he stinks up the place in the first five games, costing us those games, it's time to get him out. Or do you think he should start no matter what?

Maybe you think Landry shouldn't have pulled Craig Morton in the '72 playoff game. Is that it? Never pull your starter no matter what?
This is a disingenuous post, faulty premise, faulty conclusion. What about Dak's prior years leads any rational human Being to believe a healthy Dak Prescott will lead Dallas to a 2-7 rercord

What kind of Cowboy fan would even ponder that ? As my ignore list gets longer and longer
