Will Smith just clocked Chris Rock on live TV

Maybe Dak could slap Smith? Hell, either one of them. I figure we get twice as many pages if he slaps her.
As long as it's not his throwing arm.
1, If it were a female comic getting B' slapped, holy cow...
2, Chris Rock should host next year, but with 2 giant MMA fighters as security.

Because that awards show sure as hell didn't have any.

The Academy will weigh in on that on April 18th. They will decide punishment, and none of that punishment will be on Chris Rock, no matter what any of us think.

Will Smith's wife is a Public Figure in her own right. Will Smith was trying to have it both ways, trying to have his cake and eat it too.
He'll soon find out how wrong he was on April 18th, the Day after Resurrection Sunday. But it's not Will's standing with the Academy that will have been resurrected.

I like some of Will's movies, generally not the Blockbuster ones. I will still watch them regardless of what the Academy does in a little over 2 weeks...

As for Chris Rock, I saw him on SNL awhile back, and I though that he was flat. He had lost his edge. To me, Dave Chappelle is funnier.

If the person assaulted does not want to press charges, the the Police generally will not. The exception is domestic violence, where, even if the assaulted is begging the Police to not arrest the batterer, the Police will arrest regardless.

The Academy chose to go with Chris Rock's wishes, whatever that was. I suppose if Will Smith had knocked out Chris cold, then Chris would not have been able to give his opinion on whether to let Will Smith stay, or be arrested.

I do find it odd, that the Academy seemed to only have one of two options in mind, 1- Will stays, or 2- Will is removed and arrested.

What about option 3- Will is removed, without being arrested???
Will's offense was not just against Mr. Chris Rock, but against the viewers and the attendees. The Academy had every right to remove Smith, for that alone. But they didn't.

I'll be honest with you, if it were in a bar or something, someplace without a lot of people specifically watching them, I'd say "Good for Will". The only thing that sets me in Rock's favor is the setting.

For those who haven't heard, Will Smith has resigned from the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.

Assault?

If I were in his shoes... okay, maybe I'd start with just telling him to shut the **** up, and if he continued to talk smack about my wife, then I'd lay into him. But I wouldn't be mad at someone who defended his wife that way in a more private setting.

But the host's job is to roast the front row. It's really not the same thing.
