D'aurnad is probably two to three weeks from coming back and helping the Mets offense which means he is about three to four weeks from going back on the DL.

Are you kidding me? LOL! I have been a Mets fan since 1969. Through the M Donald Grant reign of Terror, the 70s after 1973 with the most horrible team around. Then Doubleday purchased the team in the 80s and things were better for a while. Then the Wilpons took over and threw money around that was not theirs on the Madoff investments until they lost their cash cow. Now we have the number one market in the world for sports and their budget rivals the Rays. 21st in the league when they should be top five. And I am still a fan. I should be nominated the best Mets fan however I would probably down the list because there are those a lot more apathetic about the team than I am.

Maybe new direction will come into the mets like it did with the Packers in teh early 90s. Since then it has been fun to be a Packer fan. Two of the best QBs to ever play the game. But it was the structure of the ownership that changed that allowed that all to happen. The structure of the Mets will never change as long as Mutt and Jeff own the club. That is really discouraging. Think if Hugh Culverhouse owned the Cowboys. Same thing.....

You are just piling on like every Mets fan. Talk radio here in NY.... EVERY caller talks down about the Mets and the Wilpons.

By my calculations ... Whatever they are doing is working. Dumping a ton of cash on one player is crazy. Yankees do it, did it. It guarantees nothing.

Mets are young and a work in progress.

What the Mets are doing is not working. The Wilpons are flat-out the worst owners in baseball. But you say the pitching is good to great? I agree but it was under the leadership of Minaya who brought most of those pieces in.....not Sandy Alderson. He has done absolutely nothing to the offensive side. He spends peanuts hoping to get a diamond on old or has-beens.

TDA and Wright have turned into Sean Lee's, they are rarely on the field these days.

We(Mets fans) have become cynical and I hate that, really hard to enjoy my favorite sport. Bottom line is the Wilpon's need to go sooner rather than later, they have no clue what they are doing and I don't think they even care about winning.......just wants the money :(

They dump cash but they dump it on the wrong players. mets gave up a #1 draft pick, ( i know its a crapshoot) and 20 million for Michael Cadaver and three months into the season say he being used too much. Well Hells bells, I thought 20 million for an outfielder meant you were planning on playing him every night. Curtis Granderson got 60 million for his 15 home runs and noodle arm in right field. Lagaraes got a big contract at the beginning of the year and has not hit anything since he signed it. Of course he is hurt and cant throw of catch right now which hurts as bad or worse than his not hitting.

They need an outfield and they need an infielder. SS or 3b. If they get one of Zobrist/Tulo and one of Upton/Gomez before the deadline I promise to not say anything else bad about them for the rest of the year. As long as to get those guys, they dont give up DeGrom, Harvey, Matz, or Syndergard. If they do that then they really are stupid....

Tulo would be BAD move. Hurt and big money... No good.

I don't think Zobrist is good idea. Can't give up any pitchers for him.

Upton... Mayyyybbbeee... But you gonna regret what you give up.

If mets make it to playoffs.. Would you consider Wilpons success? Not their players but their calling shots or no shots?

If they advance to 2nd round? Same question?

The Wilpons have no business running the Mets. They only money they have was Monopoly Madoff Money. Its New York, Not Tampa. It has been successful this year because of what Minaya did. Other than Syndergard no one else from Aldersons regime has produced. His efforts have produced Cadaver and granderson. Does anyone believe that they would not have basically the same record if those two anvils werent on the team. With Cadavers OPS, anyone would be an improvement because he is the worst in the league.

If the Mets somehow make it there, it is my opinion that they made it there in spite of the Wilpons. They will get there due to pitching and pitching only which was put together mostly under Omar.

Heck, maybe even Sandy knows what he is doing but is handcuffed from upper management....IDK.

I do agree about Tulo. He is another guy who gets injured often and that will be extrapolated playing in NY where it seems to always be an anomaly. He is not the answer either......just another guy to throw money at who is not at the peak of his game anymore. I also believe that he is a product of Coors Field, but that is another story.

I do not want to lose any of these pitchers in a trade really.

Any help in the pipeline from the minors?

My kid has been at a baseball camp at Tradition Field and some of the Single A guys & Phil Regan are working with the kids. My kid told their catcher he hopes they beat the Dunedon Blue Jays because he hates the Blue Jays as an Orioles fan. :D

From my vantage point the Mets have never been embraced by NYC like the what the Dodgers were, except for a few brief moments.

Wait.... You guys go around bragging that you are orioles fans.... And at the same time tell people you "hate" their teams?

Boy oh boy... Hope you guys don't get swept again in the playoffs..... IF you even make it..... I would HATE to see that happen to you again.

I find that "hate" for another usually means that theone "hating" hasn't won much or at all or has been crushed... Maybe even by the team they hate.

In baseball I don't even hate the Red Sox. It's good, bad blood. We beat them so many times that even listing 4 straight to them after winning 4 ws in 5 years wasn't that bad.

So I don't hate boston.

In football, the eagles are just nasty... As are the stealers.... The giants are just a little lucky and got hot a right time.

With that said. I don't hate any of those teams.

I guess it helps when you are a fan of two of the best, highly successful franchises.

The Blue Jays are worthy of hate. They have a real problem with the Orioles. Besides, cheaters like them and the Cheatriots are deserving of hate.
