Skanks pitching staff has moved up to 11th in the AL just ahead of the Blue Jays in 12th. Orioles dropped from 5th to 7th after serving up meatballs for 2 nights in a row to the Rangers.

Orioles are 4th in the AL in hitting and the Skanks are 6th.

Not only will I take the better pitching and hitting team to win the division but the AL leading defensive/fielding team is Baltimore (3rd in MLB trailing the 2 leaders by 1 % pt) and the Skanks are 13th.

What this says is in the 2nd half of the season the orange cream will rise to the top as Ive said all along and the other 4 teams will battle it out prob finishing in this order:

1st - Baltimore
2nd - Tampa
3rd - Toronto
4th - NY
5th - Boston

Well that was a long post for you? Lol

Cream rising, creamed corn or cream or wheat.... I don't know what you are talking about?

Orioles aren't going anywhere... And it's for the best. It's in their best interests. They are embarrassing!

Meanwhile back at the ranch, the Mets have no offense and their defense sucks even worse. Thanks Sandy. You da man. You have been patting yourself on the back for the great pitching staff with only Syndergard to show for your five years. Minaya is getting due credit for drafting the guys showing and pitching their rears off but we all know if Minaya were still the GM, those pitchers would be playing somewhere else while the Mets would look like an old broken down team like the Yankees.

The players have to play... Perform. Blame them. Not sandy.

Favorite? = Voted most likely to get swept in a 7 game series.

Sandy obtains AA players and expects them to be all-stars. He sucks but I am sure he is under direct orders from the Cheapons..........

Yes... but aren't the minaya players too?

Yes, but he got us some pitchers at least, which is the only thing positive about this club. Without Minaya's pitching acquisitions, the Mets would be near 18 wins ATM.

The Wilpons need to be forced to sell, they are the main fault here.

NY post did a scathing article on Sandy and the Wilpons tonight. I feel like M Donald Grant is running the franchise these days. Even that offense and defense was better than what is being thrown out there every night.

Well, Wait till next year.

And just like that..... "No more first place for you....ONE YEAR!"

Lmao

Ive never seen a baseball fan get so excited over the daily or even weekly ups and downs of a baseball season. Like Ive said before, enjoy it now becuz the Yankees will NOT win the division. They will not be in the wildcard game. They will most likely finish 4th in the division maybe 3rd if things go well for them. The Orioles will win the AL East - count on it. A game or 2 back now means nothing.

The Yankees are the Yankees.... They are excitable. What can I say.

I just like it when baltimore is not in first place.... Which is MOST of my life.

Orioles will win nothing... And you will like it. Should be used to it by now...really....

I think the Yankees make a strong push on 2nd half.

Pull away from the pack.

I see 90 wins

Baltimore might win 80 but that won't be good enough for wild card

Gotta say I'm surprised the Yanks were in 1st place half-way into the season.

I think it says more about the ineptitude of the rest of the division than it does the talent found within their roster. Don't get me wrong they have some decent to good players, but there are places like 2nd base, and at least a couple spots of the starting rotation that are simply bluegh.

Im going to give them and Girardi a little more credit than that.

On pace to win about 90 games.
Of the get hot at right time maybe more.

This season has been rewarding In the sense, less is getting us more.

Enjoying the ride.

Thank goodness I don't live in baltimore.

I agree. If the Yankees were playing in the NL Central, they would be 9 or 10 games back. AL East currently has the worst winning % for a division leader in MLB. It is what it is but having said all of this, the winner of the division still goes to the playoffs.
