Gary Thorne, the voice of the Baltimore Orioles believes that they are done and CANNOT overcome their issues. Says they will soon start packaging players for trades, etc

Orioles are finished. Never got over that 4 game sweep. It carried over from last year.

They very well may be. Its been a collective effort the last 20 games. Under achieve as the favorites to win the division is on the players. The early injuries didnt hurt them all that much in this weak division but the COF play has most of the year. And yet they're still in it.

Sorry my friend.

1. They weren't favorites no matter what anybody says or writes.
2. Division ain't shaping up that weak. The Yankees will not only challenge for 90 games... They will challenge for best record In Baseball soon.
3. Did I mention that they are done. Accept now so the healing deal begin... Then you can enjoy second half of summer ;-)

If the Yankees were able to get another reliable starter they would have a chance for being the best team in MLB... but right now the Cards are the top dog.

Only 7 game difference right now with current team.

One win streak by yanks.... One losing streak by cards

Yankees and Twins today. This will be interesting in that Pinada is going against Phil Hughes today.

Mets call up Conforto. he is the 1000 player in Mets history. Hopefully he produces. Of course Terry will probably sit him on the bench for some stupid reason.

Not a Collins basher but the guys just seems like he is a baby sitter for a major league team. "It was his fault Parnell faltered against the Nationals". "Parnell did not do well in the major rehab because he was just not motivated by minor league ball". The team did not want to move Flores off short because it may stunt his growth. They did not want to put Tejada at short because it may hurt Flores feelings. Colon did not do well because he had too much time off at the all star break. Harvey did not do too well because he is not used to the six man rotation. On and ON it goes with this dysfunctional baseball team. I have never seen a major league team that has an excuse for everything. And Sandy Alderson and the Wilpons can pound sand.

Man... Hughes was big for us in first half of 2009. We font get to World Series without his first half.

Then in playoffs he was gold.

Too bad he didn't have staying power.

I think well beat him.

I'd feel it more if they had one more reliable starter.

I gotta say... I was hoping, he would have stayed one more year, jeter that is. I was thinking that last year when we just missed playoffs.

Maybe it's poetic in some way..,, Jeter was R2SPECT.... Alex is FORG1V3

He leads us to World Series win without jeter.

And the Yankees were never the favorites either. Nobody picked those guys to be where they are now. probably the most overachieving team in the league.

"Overachieving", the word is so often misused. Annoying actually.
Almost as annoying as the "narrative".... Anyways....

While I didn't see them doing as well as this. I did think they just missed a few plays here and there last year. So.... All hail Girardi... The guys knows how to coach. Manager of the year.... Again.... For me.

So, with that said. A team with arod. tex, Pineda, tanaka are not overachieving. We have come to expect these guys to perform well.

McCann, gardner, eovaldi, etc are surprises... Pleasant ones...

Just... Go..... AND TAKE IT!!

I gotta say I don't think they're over achieving.

About the only one I think is over-achieving is Arod.

Some of the others like McCann, Tex and Gardner are playing to their potential.

The 2nd base position is still a hole. Beltran hasn't been worth the investment and CC has been a car-wreck (but holding out hope for today's start).

This team has some talent on it.

When it comes to arod. I don't know.
He just has created so much mess...been through so much mess... He is just relaxed and playing. This is the player that he is,

One thing I know... I can't express enough how much I hate it when he comes up and needs a clutch hit... Game on the line.... Do or die. I would like know how many times he strikes out, hits into double play and pops out in this situations. It's gotta be ugly. Jeter is king there.

It's a daytime nightmare for me,
