Will The Yankees and Mets Win More Than 80 Games This Year?

When it comes to arod. I don't know.
He just has created so much mess...been through so much mess... He is just relaxed and playing. This is the player that he is,

One thing I know... I can't express enough how much I hate it when he comes up and needs a clutch hit... Game on the line.... Do or die. I would like know how many times he strikes out, hits into double play and pops out in this situations. It's gotta be ugly. Jeter is king there.

It's a daytime nightmare for me,

You were saying about ARod not being "clutch?" LOL!

LOL!

Well determining the "right price" for a rental player is a tough one.

If the Pads are indeed asking for two high-end prospects... well I wouldn't do that either. Upton has been decent this year but he's not putting up top numbers this year.

I agree about the two top prospects but it is just another example of Sandy and Fred "trying" to show the fans that they are trying to get a hitter. It is their M.O............appear to be hitting the market but back down at the last minute because of asking price.

Instead, they will say they tried and go out and sign another AAAA player or two.

If the Mets are serious about getting a real offensive player, they are going to have to lose one good starting pitcher.

For the record, I don't want Upton either but they do need someone, maybe Gomez? I would let Montero, Syndeer or Wheeler go for the right player.

Something that people will balk at........try to shop Harvey right now for that blue-chipper. I have a feeling that he will be gone and the Mets won't pay him what he wants IMO.

See.... If I cared. Honestly, I don't but if I did.... I would be hesitant to trade and grab.

The grab is for a short term deal. To get to playoffs... Make some noise... But then the traded player is gone.
I don't think mets fans are really understanding the severity of that. Once gone, they are gone and you have what? A decent player at best?

That's a valid point.

Not being a Mets fan I can't understand their frustration. Being an Astros fan was different because there was no illusion the last few seasons of "Hey, we're trying to contend." The Mets fans have been teased more than that.

That being said I would hesitant about gutting my young talent base for the sake of reaching the playoffs this year.

They have a fine group of pitchers there and more coming up. I wouldn't be making any moves for JUST 2015. If I'm acquiring a hitter it's for the next few seasons.

Exactly... A pitching staff like that could lead to an eventual dynasty. (I giggle when I say that because.... Well ... It's the mets) lol

Here-in lies the problem.....they surround this pitching staff with stiffs who will never amount to much in the big leagues. Pitching wins but there needs to be some semblance of an offense around them.

I wouldn't trade the farm to borrow a hitter either but they do/will have a plethora of pitchers available......mostly starters.

I hate the Yankees with a passion.....just under my hatred for all Philly teams. But, I do respect them :(

They are usually in the mix every season and they do the right things to win.

Nice to have a common thing with you as well Dex. You are a great poster on this board.

I hate all Philly teams with a passion and I already instilled this to my kids. Both my kids everything about Philly. They don't even like Philly Cheese Steak :)

Blasphemy! A great Cheese Steak is the best thing that ever came out of Philly. Probably the only great thing that ever came out of Philly. I would say Ben Franklin too, but he was actually born in Boston. He just lived in that ****ty town.

Nope

Pass on the Cheesesteak. We hate Philly. Philly sucks. Philly is a ****** town with ****** fans.

What has happened to Sandy Alderson? It appears that someone has kidnapped him and put Kevin Costner from draft day in his place. Today he acquired a reliever from the Oakland Athletics which helps their bullpen. Who is this guy making all these trades?

Can he play the outfield? Can he hit, bunt or hit a sac fly?

Word on the street is that Clippard is a rental relief pitcher. Meisner has more potential in the long run according to scouts. Clip walks too many batters but at least it is only a recent issue.

Even though he is a righty, he dominates the LH'ers. I like the move but I sure hope Sandy doesn't stop here, we need a hitter or two!
