Will you be satisfied with 1 and done?

Picture this. Youve taken girls out on dates for 16 years and never gotten to first base. Your friends all know it. They make fun of you incessantly. You have a chance to go all the way and you dont but you do get to first base finally. It feels good. Its something to build on. Now going all the way is your goal going forward and you wont accept anything less. Now though your friends have to stop making fun of you. Get it now?

Not really. I now am feeling very sorry for this pathetic person you speak of who finally got to cop a feel after sixteen years of trying.

Winning the Superbowl is like basically getting with that chick you always dreamed of. We've all gotten to that point, and will continue to get better right?

If I'm not mistaken, I think you got it.

Hmmm, I wonder if they will be happy to win one playoff game?

:laugh2:

I'm happy if you are happy...

Cards I doubt it their goals now are loftier for the Cowboys no I don't think they would be happy with 1 win and then lose. However I do not think these players would not look at themselfs as some utter failure, that is reserved for fans who sit on their butts and never played the game. :)

I did not say anything about winning one and being thrilled to death. Yes I would be happy that we achieved getting over that hump however I don't think this year will be a failure either if Dallas falls shy of the SB. I want it as bad as anyone but I do not think this team will be viewed by most who cover the NFL as a failure by not winning it all and I know I will not view it as some complete failure.

If the Cowboys win one and lose out, the whole freaking media and anyone else that covers the Cowboys are going to give all hell to this organization! It will get worse than what it already is!

And you know it.

I did not say 1 and out, I said earlier the NFC Championship game. To do that Dallas must win this week and the following week to make it to the NFC Championship game. If Dallas reaches that game then no I don't think anyone who covers the NFL will look at Dallas a some cruddy team or a bunch of losers. Again you may but that is you. As much as I would love to be in the SB I would not look at playing in the NFC championship game a failed season

Sure, we'd all like the Boys to win a Superbowl so we can shut up those persons in our life ( at work or at home ) who ALWAYS seem to like to rub it in when the Boys lose. We'd like to instead be able to preen and gloat to them instead.

But c'mon people, the season is most definitely NOT a failure if we can win a playoff game against the Eagles even if we lose to the Vikings the week after that.

Bringing up our 8 SB appearances and 5 wins as some proof that ONLY Superbowl wins = successful season is ignorant when our beloved franchise has been down so long without ANY post-season success.

SURE, it won't be a COMPLETE success if we don't win it all, but if we win next Saturday, it will be at least a partial success. And that is at least acceptable if not preferable. And if a fan can't accept that I hear that the Steelers have 6 rings; maybe you can go worship at their temple instead so you can once again brag about your team having more rings than every other one. I'll stick with my Boys with their 5, and be proud that they seem to be giving their all to at least try their hardest this year.

Hell no I wont be satisfied with just 1 win, however I dont freak out and fire the coaching staff or make drastic roster changes.

I try to add to what we already have through the draft and free agency and try again next year. The idea that if you dont win the SB you are a bunch of losers is stupid. Being a playoff team year in and year out is quite an accomplishment itself. Think about it this way.....

Was Tom Landry a loser for only winning 2 SBs in 30 seasons??? Does all of his playoff victories and division titles and conference championship games mean jack becasue we didnt win the SB every year???

All you guys wanting Cowher, go look at his playoff record. It took him 15 years to finally win a SB and even then he had to have the refs gift wrap it for him. Do you know how many playoff games at home Cowher lost??? Does it make him a loser that he only got 1 ring after 15 years and it has a huge asterick carved in it???

NO, i want to be in the NFC championship. If we lose there that's no disgrace.

I'll be slightly relieved that we won a playoff game, that's it. This team needs to win 2 post season games. NFCCG or bust.

I just get the feeling that if we beat the Eagles and then play Minny, the refs are going to be having hard ons for Favre.

I see us getting raped by the officials up in the MetroDome, you know the NFL would love for Favre to make it back to the SB. Call me paroniod if you want, I just see us playing against the Vikes and the refs at the same time against Minny.

Know what ya mean man:(

Only team i hate more than the skins are the vikes living in the Dakotas all my life, but hey, i just want a shot at those front runners.

Our D is playing as good as it has in a couple years and brett has a history of playoff choke jobs.

if we beat the Eagles on Saturday, I don't see us facing a test again until the Super Bowl. Not with this defense.

i'm usually about winning it all but i have to admit that if the boys beat philly saturday night i will be happy no matter how the season ends..

Who would be happy with winning a playoff game and losing next game? NOT ME

Who would be happy with going to NFC title game and losing it? NOT ME

Who would be happy to go to SB and lose it? NOT ME (atleast we made it to SB??)

No WAY.

I am with Aikman on this one. If we didnt go to and win the SB I considered the season a failure.

I could never be happy with that, but I could live with it and look at this season as a really nice response to last years fiasco.

I can't even think about the misery that will ensue if we lose to Philly this week, it will last for the next year or more.

We desperately need to get that monkey off our back

No..............

Look it up if you've blocked it out as well. They beat us by 20 or more every friggen time they won during that run. We didn't even play well against them. They just beat us to death.

Now I know why I hate them so much more every day and why I want us to beat them so badly Saturday night and just why exactly Sunday night and blanking them felt so good.

I'm with you bro, they're my most hated team by far.

My hate started in the 70's with Harold Carmichael and co giving us hell but it came to an all out rage when Buddy Ryan's cocky, smug *** became coach. He put bounties on our kicker (ie he offered a reward to any player who would hurt or knock him out).

The crescendo was when they were thoroughly beating us in a game. The game was over but they were running out the clock and had even taken a knee a time or two. Is looks like they are about to take a knee again, but a receiver snuck out into a rout, Cunningham faked the knee, jumped up and threw a TD pass to just rub it in. I wanted to physically hurt the man I was so Irate. They beat us in that game 31-7.

They reignited my hate when Eagles cheered while Irvin laid on the field hurt.

Not to mention booing Santa Claus and throwing snowballs at the team with batteries packed inside.

I had to quit watching when the Eagles had the string of wins you mentioned. I would become so moody and miserable, no one could stand to be around me.

Where were you when all that I mentioned happened? If that losing streak got you fired up, you might have lost your mind seeing the crap that pre-dated 2000.

Hell no. I'll be very disappointed if we're beaten again because we shouldn't be.
