Williams and Pickens one year wonders?

We actually have a top 5 RB this year currently 2nd in rushing. What a great signing. But the longer he stays on top the higher his contract is going to be.

Same goes for Pickens who I suspected would be a 1 year rental. Arguably our best WR tandem since 90’s with Irvin and Harper. True first round talent on both sides.

We saved millions in Cap space trading Parsons. The more success they have this season the higher the price. Get a deal done now. End of season will be too late or expensive.

Pardon the term but we gotta go ALL-IN on these two...

I suspect we can afford them both after letting Parsons walk no problem, and it's now or never with Dak. We've got pleanty of space. Beebe, Guyton, and Booker won't need big money for a few years. That will get us through Dak's window. Williams won't cost too much.

He is but it’s like QB. Does Baker Mayfield deserve to be paid more than Josh Allen? Does Daniel Jones deserve to be paid more than Josh? They may be playing like top 5 QBs this year but they are not better then Allen, Burrow,’etc

I would trade Pickens now. Bills are looking hot and heavy for a WR1. We can't have the highest paid QB and two of the top paid WRs and expect to fix the defense. Probably get a 1st and 4th for him. Maybe more from a team that is a WR away from a SB run

I didn’t say he would. I’m saying if he would. Running back market will be cheap. You can draft someone or you can sign another Javonte’s. I don’t see any scenario where anyone breaks the bank for him.

I know, I know... it is so easy to find a rock solid back. I mean, doesnt every team have a 1200 yard back that can get you 12 or 13 rushing Tds each season?

I find it strange that people are saying Pickens is that great, when did he play as the only WR1 except against the Jags over the past few weeks? Arguments vary regarding his lack of production, like not having a QB, etc. Here’s a question: CeeDee played and produced with Cooper Rush for 7 games last year and even 5 games in 2022. He still had better stats than Pickens with one arm and Rush as the QB. If Pickens is paid more, I think it creates a serious locker room division for obvious reasons. Someone has to accept Smith-type pay as the clear sacrifice for the team. AJ’s money equals CeeDee’s, Smith’s equals Pickens. Don't think Pickens has earned or shown that he deserves 35/year, and challenge him to hit one year of 1,700+ yards, which we've seen the bar set at without Rush playing. This would be the year to do it, as he has Dak and CeeDee drawing the attention of top CBs or double teams.

Pickens is absolutely great. Williams, I think, wants to prove himself. He has improved almost every game. I agree, get Pickens done NOW.

I didn’t say they should be paid top dollar. Just pay them . Currently both are on 1 year deals.

QB’s are different story . Often we see top10 caliber QB’s paid top dollar. Market price contracts aren’t always a pecking order.

And I’d argue that if Jones and Mayfield are critical to those teams success they may very well be worth as much as Allen or anyone. Their value to their respective franchises are not based on their talent level alone.

Of course but the point is he is top 5 currently . And the fact he may be what we needed with a franchise type RB should justify an extended contract . Not top pay but more than the 3.5 million 1 year deal.

Where did I say ANY? I think a SB caliber team like Buffalo who is in need of a legit WR1 would be willing to and then would sign them to an extension.

well if its that easy, why dont we just keep Pickens, go trade for Crosby and Jeffrey Simmons and win the SB ourselves. Im sure we could swing those guys for the 2 1st rd picks we got from GB.
