Q: So how far ahead of the curve were you on Roy Williams? It seems like a day doesn't go by without another story on Roy Williams' poor play and the fact that his career is at a crossroads. What took so long for the rest of media to write what you been talking about for a couple years now?

A: OMG, Robert, thank you, thank you, thank you. I thought I was losing my mind reading all of these "new" stories about how Roy has "suddenly" lost his way and the Cowboys are "just now" realizing he is the pink elephant in the secondary. I have been saying and writing this for two-plus years mainly because I was hearing it from Valley Ranch voices for at least that long. The problem is Roy Willy always was a flawed player and Woody helped hide those flaws. The idea was he would work to improve on his areas of weakness as his career progressed. Instead, Woody has to retire, the work stopped and the excuses started. It was my fault and the media's fault and the coach's fault and the scheme's fault and now, you, the fan's fault and it is all b.s. What is needed is a little personal accountability and a pledge to be better. I don't know. Maybe, he could start by going to OTAs this week.

Ouch!

BTW... I think JFE meant to say "the white elephant in the secondary", 'cus "pink" means he's just an illusion or not actually there.... Which, now that I think about it... may not be so far from right.

Sooner or later, the mask slips.
