With Lance and Rush potentially leaving in the off season, what do we do?

I'm not sure these two players will be missed much around here, but we have to replace them. You also have a starter in Dak who you don't know will be himself in 2025. What avenue do we go to get backup QB depth. I hope they're seriously considering a vet that can actually throw a pass, and a rookie somewhere in a decent round where the player doesn't need years and years of development. Sitting out behind a starter is key, but if he's that bad then why even pick him up. We honestly need guys that can go in there and help us get wins, not hold us back as if they've never played the position in their football careers. Please give your thoughts
Do what Jerry Dumbo GM has been doing to have a team high enough on in the draft to get Arch Manning in 2 years.

It depends on who is HC here next year. If it’s McCarthy, I could see Will Grier being the backup. I could also see Cooper Rush back on a one year deal, although to me that makes little sense.

I would like to see this team draft and develop a young QB, even if it were a Day 2 pick. The problem there is this is a slim QB class and we don’t know if we will have a HC who is good at developing young QBs.
It's what we should have been trying to do with Mike QB Whisperer McCarthy.

Give him a chance to make good on his reputation, because it would have been a *big* deal.

So the theory is that the Jones’ are playing 4D chess?

I think the more logical explanation is that Lance sucks and Jerry burned a 4th round pick on him.
Your logic is subjective. I don't think anyone has seen enough of him to make an actual ruling on that. He's basically only played with our 4th-5th string guys at this point. Anyone looks horrible playing with them.

New Head Coach and.or OC will dictate that.

Ben Johnson? Jake Fromm

Brian Flores? Nick Mullins or Brett Rypien

Mike Vrabel? Ryan Tannehill

Kellen Moore? Who cares because we will stink

Jerry Jones left to his own devices? Zach Wilson. He's probably buddies with Zach's uncle (David Neeleman, founder of Jet Blue, CEO of Breeze Airlines)

Stephen Jones? The 5th best QB from the UFL

Here's a novel idea: Why don't we draft a rookie who doesn't need "years and years of development"?
name those rookies you are advocating for us to get....put your name next to somebody
...... or is it we dial 1-800-NEED-QB and just order one. I haven't checked amazon lately, perhaps they have some.

Sure it’s subjective. But I’m just going with occams razor.

He has done nothing but suck so far in all the games he has played. So the most logical explanation for his lack of playing time so far is that he sucks.

Not the Jones’ are playing 4D chess and hiding him from the rest of the league so they can re-sign him cheap.

"We" do what we do whenever the starter's contract is a serious cap issue. We back him up with a rookie free agent.

This isn’t a good draft class to develop a QB. Sign some vet for backup in which it will probably be Rush

I believe there is only one former Cowboy QB on any of the NFL rosters and that's Andy Dalton who's a FA next year.
Jerry, being the lazy GM that he is, pretty much has four options for back-up QB next year.
1.Rush
2. Lance
3. Grier
4. Dalton
No other QBs will be considered.

Like it, or not, we've got Dak for a minimum of two (probably three) years. As it stands throwing a 1stRd QB into this offense is a waste.

Jerruh could shock us, and take a talented developmental QB, like Riley Leonard (Notre Dame) if he's available.
Yeah, I know. Jerruh thinks they're set at QB.

You keep saying 4D chess like they are doing something no other team does. All teams do this. It's not really some big brain move. But with a salary cap you aren't going to offer big bucks to a guy you haven't seen do anything.
