With Lance and Rush potentially leaving in the off season, what do we do?

I'm not sure these two players will be missed much around here, but we have to replace them. You also have a starter in Dak who you don't know will be himself in 2025. What avenue do we go to get backup QB depth. I hope they're seriously considering a vet that can actually throw a pass, and a rookie somewhere in a decent round where the player doesn't need years and years of development. Sitting out behind a starter is key, but if he's that bad then why even pick him up. We honestly need guys that can go in there and help us get wins, not hold us back as if they've never played the position in their football careers. Please give your thoughts
Rush leaves and comes back as he has always done

As much as this team needs an infusion of dynamic, innovative coaching on both sides of the ball we should prepare ourselves for Jerry maintaining status quo.
I think both MM and MZ will be the beneficiaries of the injuries suffered on both sides of the ball and will get new contracts; and Jerry has a comfort level with both of them due to their contentment to dwell in Jerry’s shadow.
Dallas is stuck with a surgically-repaired Dak and I believe Rush will be retained as he is a serviceable QB. Don’t see Jerry drafting another QB as I don’t think the staff is capable of developing one; Dak hasn’t improved at all, in fact maybe even regressed, during MM’s tenure.
So…with Jerry being the eternal optimist and continuing to look at his team through rose-colored, beer goggles; no changes will be coming and us fans should prepare for this outcome.

The one word to describe this team and it's GM is "Mediocre".

Honestly, what difference does it make? If Dak cannot play, we will not win a lot of games.

Jerral will also not bring in a backup that could, in any way, create a QB controversy.
If Dak plays we won't win playoff games.

I don't mind the Justin Fields idea, he can take over if/when Dak falls off a cliff, and a no name rookie for a third stringer.

We cant keep getting away with backup qb's like Rush anymore. At the very least get Lance back.

Rush will be resigned and we draft a late round QB. No sooner than the 5th round.

It's relatively simple. We'd probably be well advised to draft a QB that has enough real promise to deserve it.

A vet FA QB is yet another possibility. Jerry and Stephen have been too timid to make such a move. It's time.

"We" do what we do whenever the starter's contract is a serious cap issue. We back him up with a rookie free agent.
The starter's contract in not a serious cap issue........keep believing Jerry if you want to......he's got more for you in the coming season.

It wouldn't be a serious cap issue for most teams. The Cowboys currently have the highest paid player in the NFL, a QB, as well as one of the currently highest paid WR's.

In addition, they still have to deal with dead money created by voidable years in contracts.

Why would Jerry lie about this when anyone can go straight to spotrac.com and see for themselves? It is true, but understandable, that the Cowboys rollover some cash in anticipation of Parsons or another's contract.
