If you were any greener, we'd be convinced you were an Eagles fan. I guess you can only read about Jason Campbell sucking it up so much before boredom sets in and you want to read about real QBs.

Actually, Jason Campbell seems to be doing decently. Anyways, it's impossible to really tell until, at least, the scrimmage. If the Ravens shut down Campbell, that's okay too, because I think it's safe to say they have a pretty good defense.

Anyways, you Cowboys fans are freaking conceited. Why the hell would anybody be jealous? If we were jealous, we'd just change the team we like. It's not like this is something we're born with or can't change. So get off your high horse and realize you haven't done anything worthy of jealousy in over a decade.

The amazing part - at least to me - is that we HAVEN'T done anything in quite some time, and you people are still jealous. Maybe it's your lame "We win during Strikes" history, maybe it's your ugly uniforms, maybe it's your desire for a less ethnically-offensive team name - I'm not sure.

It's a weird dynamic. I won't pretend to understand it.

The body of delusion dwarfs even that:)

I doubt even Peyton gets more love on a Colts message board then Romo does here...

A terrific first week of camp??? That's almost impossible to tell. If your offense burns your defense, then is your offense great, or your defense sucks??? If your defense shuts down your offense, is your defense great or your offense bad?

Anyways, it's hard to determine how your pass rush is doing if you don't have your two starting tackles. To see how your team is doing, let's wait until they play somebody other then themselves, okay?
What is this? "Critique The Cowboys Day?"

A successful training camp is gauged by a number of factors. Overall participation of the players. Installation of new plays, schemes, etc. Coaching interaction with the players. Etc., etc. If you believe that a successful week of training camp hinges solely on the offense or defense having spotless series day after day, you're wrong.

Another point: we'll critique our team as we see fit, thanks.

You and your kin aren't going to be caught on a Skins board, yet there seems to be a lot of references to ES. So either you get it through osmosis, or a decent amount of people here spends time there.

You ran away from BigDfan like a damn sissy, then come back again and tells us crap like that?

Pathetic troll! I wish they would ban your butt!

I can't control everybody, but - unlike you - I wouldn't be caught dead on a Commanders board.

And most of those 'references' are jokes at the expense of the embarrassing homers who continue to 'talk-up' a mediocre, directionless team.

The team is irrelevant, therefore why should I care?

Seems the Commanders faithful are obsessed with 'us' though......

Overall participation of players??? Eh, you are missing your two starting tackles. Your fourth round draft pick and one of your back-up ILBs. Not great...

Installation of new players/schemes? How do you know if they are being picked up yet, unless you know the play on that particular drill? Coaching interaction with players? Just because it's a friendly atmosphere doesn't mean the coaches are interacting well with the players.

Anyways, your just guessing as to the state of those two things. You "hope" you are doing well in those things, but you just don't know.

There are many things to take away from training camp besides when the offense and defense "scrimmages". If you can't tell that, then frankly I'm not quite sure how much of a football fan you really are.

There are a lot of reasons camp has been a good one so far. This quote from a notoriously negative Dallas Morning News beat writer is just one of the things:

Since I predicted that he would break the team record for passing yards and TDs this season, it's safe to say I'm a believer in Tony Romo...

Linkage: http://cowboys.beloblog.com/archives/2007/07/live_from_the_alamodome_xiii.html

Also, this quote from another Dallas writer is quite good:

I moved to a high section to get a better view of the bigger passing drills and got two eyefulls of Romomonium.

He’s sharp folks. Crazy sharp. Scary sharp.

He’s getting his passes away fast. Hard. On target.

Romo has no fear of coverage right now. He’s challenging defenders and beating them, not in ways that recall the reckless gunslinger from ‘06, but in ways that evoke Hall of Famers.

In the 7-on-7, he dropped and had Witten open in the deep middle. Romo passed on him and instead drilled a perfect deep out to Owens just over a linebacker and in front of the corner. He had maybe a square foot of opening to work with and he made it. Later, he threw another deep comeback to Owens that floated just a foot off the turf, right where T.O. could snag it, tap his feet in bounds and taunt the poor guy trying to cover him.

I remember Terry Bradshaw in his prime made a living throwing deep ins and skinny posts to John Stallworth and Lynn Swann that the receivers had to slide to catch. These passes seemed dangerous but had a logic to them; Bradshaw put the ball where it could not be picked off; if his guy didn’t catch it the best a defender could do was knock it down.

What’s more, the passes kept Bradshaw’s guys from being laid out. When they made their low catches defenders had to tap them on the head as they slid past.

In the 11-on-11, Romo threw a similar daisy cutter that Myles Austin caught as he slid directly at a waiting Roy Williams. Williams fell on Austin, with a loud thwack that drew oohs. Because Austin was boring in on his ankles, Williams could not make a kill shot and Austin leapt to his feet and trotted back to the huddle.

And this was far from Romo’s best throw. In the 7-on-7 Romo sent Witten on a seam route up the right hash. Akin Ayodelehad him covered underneath and a safety had Witten bracketed over the top. Romo didn’t care. He zipped a fastball just a foot inside the hash, right at Witten’s back shoulder. The ball buzzed past Ayodele’s helmet, as he turned to find it. Witten spun inside and caught the ball just off his right earhole for a huge gain.

Romo only needs an opening about a foot wide right now for a completion. Who’s the last Cowboys QB who fit that description?

That's in full pads... not mini-camp and OTA practices that he's been rocking and rolling in.

Then there's Ware appearing unstoppable, no matter who's blocking him. Our first round choice looking like he's really going to pressure the QB opposite of Ware. The enthusiasm (from the players) about what is happening with the schemes. Leonard Davis is a steamroller in the run game, and his pass blocking will be fine when the DT/DE doesn't have a ton of room to run around him. Carpenter is really showing signs of becoming a very good pass rusher, etc. etc. etc.

Really, enough for me though is that Romo is going to be scary for other NFL teams this year. He's sharp. Even if that were the only positive coming out of camp, I'd still be thrilled because Tony is going to take this team for a deep run by all indications.

No, your body of delusion does not dwarf the body of evidence.

Love him? Hell yes we love him. He dates hotties, judges beauty pageants, sings with rock bands, plays scratch golf, and is the best QB we've had in a while. Go to a Titans board and tell me they aren't in love with Vince Young. And that was after following a great QB in McNair.

Why is that hard for you to grasp?

temper your prediction..there is a transition period that you cant avoid!!!:)

We are not re-inventing the wheel like Al Saunders did for you guys.

Romo already has the offense down, and if anything, they have simplified it by what TO says.

Phillips has never had a problem trasitioning his defense either.

Thanks for the concern though.

That's you dude, you like to stick your head in the sand and just repeat things like, jealousy and Cowboys and maybe that wasn't just a role for Heath Ledger. That's fine dude, live in a world where you only know the Cowboys. Isolationism works GREAT for North Korea.

However, I am a bit different then you. I want to know how things go in other teams (namely rivals) territory. That way I know what to expect.

Anyways, you guys have your share of homerism here. Do I need to recall the Tom Brady vs. Tony Romo thread?

Tony Romo is being compared to a freaking hall-of-famer because he can throw a decent pass over a LB to a big WR and then underthrow a comeback route to TO??? So that's why he's playing like a future hall-of-famer??? Oh yeah, that's not delusional at all...

I understand going to a rivals board to check out what's going on. I do it so I'm not knocking you for doing that... but to not understand how a team can have a positive practice session because they're sort of playing themselves... I don't understand.

Do I need to remind you that he had 15 turnovers (for 6 TDs) the last 5 games??? Maybe that's why I'm slightly skeptical... But then again, completing two passes, according to asthmafield, means he's playing at hall-of-fame level.
