Witten just confirmed Garrett is staying as head coach

Player speak is that's great. We'll continue to give our best efforts for the Dallas Cowboys.

Witten appears to like Garrett.

They all appeared to like Wade... I could care less for player speak, especially when your coming off your third straight loss to a division rival when the play-offs are on the line...

I'm fine with Garrett as HC in 2014, as long as it's understood that it'll be a do or die year for him. And I hope he succeeds.

It more and likely is. Playing Indy, Houston, Seattle, Arizona, SF, and NO on top playing our divisional rivals will be a tough task.

When you say this I take it to mean the leaders on this team need to step up and hold those around them accountable 24-7. I do not believe they do.

The old guard (Romo,Witten, Ware) have never been inspirational leaders. It's too late for them. It's time for guys like Murray, Bryant, Smith, and Lee to take their place and be the leaders this team needs to take the next step.

All these guys may genuinely like Garrett as a HC but it's all pointless if they are unable to push each other to be the best at their respective positions.

Murray seems to want to be that inspirational leader, but it's hard when the game plan excludes you.

I really don't get what people expect him to say.

"Ok look we all know Jason is football impaired but hey he's nice to me so we're cool!"

"Ha we fooled you guys! You actually thought we were going to win? Not with that bonehead calling plays"

This is a good example for those that argue that the team lacks an identity. Romo has always been the identity of the offense; maybe it's time for Bryant and Murray to take his place.

You mean to tell me Dan Snyder is smarter than Jerry Jones? Good grief.

from the article

The Commanders were 24-40 under Shanahan, the worst record of any NFC East team during that span and the same winning percentage as two of his predecessors, Steve Spurrier and Jim Zorn. The Commanders lost 10 or more games in three of Shanahan's four seasons.

of course they want Garrett to stay...there is no accountability to work hard and produce...makes the job much easier if there is no threat to losing your job

Garrett is more or less a figure head and nothing more. He doesn't really control much of anything so changing him won't change much.

Doubt it.

Campo was a defensive minded coach. His defense teams ranked 22, 20, 13. So in his three years, he cracked the top half of the league once.

Compare that to Garrett. Offensive minded coach, and his offense has been in the top half every year. This year, we are in the top 5.

So comparing Garrett to Campo isn’t going to move me. I call bs.

Why did you quote me saying that? I never posted anything about Campo and I saw that you quoted me:

Without romo Garrett would have a similar record to campo.

Weird....

Dallas has had as much talent as any of the last couple SB winners, yet we've been underachieving, and finishing 8-8. That's a leadership issue.

The definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over then expecting a different result each time. At least in my mind, it's time to do something different. Red must go.

firing your coach while keeping your gm has been tried over and over. are you insane?

Unless you hire someone and give him power. Of course, Parcells was only brought in to get a new stadium and it worked. Jerry admitted it during a drunken stupor. Alas...

Where's the talent on defense? The offensive line was good last year but where has it been in the past also? I'm sorry but we are weak in a lot of key areas. We got a lot better talentwise last year with a solid center and a good 2nd WR. But we still have a huge lack of talent on defense overall.

I am one of the fIre Garrett guys, but I am willing to give the guy one last chance next year. It has been 2 years of player injuries where we don't know who is coming or going. Yes all teams have injuries but not like we has sustained in 2 years. Last night the team fought hard and came up short. We just need consistency.
