Witten update

So much respect for Witten and everything he stands for. Like them as players or not, it's tough to see Witten and Dez go. They've been a huge part of our lives for many years. They both set great examples for my son - great work ethics and an immense desire to compete and win. I think Witten is making a good decision. The dude won't be able to walk in ten years if he keeps playing.

My friend of foreign shingle hung AVATAR fame,,,to simply toss the casualties of work ethic twitx the two players is truly of atrocious poor form , my fellow member of obviously obstructed observations, the #82 is a biblical spoken of nephelium,,,while that cracked glass drawen tube of suckage of a #88 is obviously ,,,just that,,,silly fan

Rapoport was on Total Access and said it's a done deal.

Probably be an announcement of some kind in 2-3 days.

I imagine a big presser where Jason makes his farewell speech.

The team is pretty much a 'rebuild'. I don't blame him for not sticking around for another year and putting his health at risk, especially when you have an opportunity like Monday Night Football come around.

It sucks what we are one year removed from the NFCE champions and are now "rebuilding". Not trying to be condescending or anything. How about we "restock"?

Thank you Jason Witten .......... you are an all class, old school, tough as nails football player. It was a joy to watch you work.

I call a conspiracy. It was collusion. Goodell has no one to suspend to impede our rise to the top. So he colluded with ESPN to take a way Witten in an attempt to weaken the team.

Thing is, it just may backfire...because Jerry and Stephen has the secret sauce in waiting...

Troy is not a hater,he just become so conscious of not being a homer that he went overkill. Still irritating.

I agree. If you listen to his weekly show during the season on The Ticket, Troy is much more positive about the team and the players.
He is straight forward, as he will be critical but be will praise things and players as well.

But on game days, he tries not to sound partial, and too many times it comes across as he is a hater. I don't think it is intentional but it is still irritating.

Draft week, & Witten's stint at Tennessee.
Parcells selected a good one.

I wonder how ESPN pinpointed him as an announcer let alone one to step right into MNF. It seems bold to go after a guy who is still playing under a contract that has no previous experience.

He wasn't first on their list for that opening or even 3rd,,, but former DALLAS COWBOYS Icons do pull in viewers& boost ratings

I remember Witten's first TD catch from Qunicy Carter and his last one from Dak Prescott. From Quincy to Dak. Witten played a long time, didn't he? My heart is heavy. No Dez. No OScan. No Witten. A new Cowboys era has truly begun.

Yep He caught his first touchdown in week 17 vs the Giants at Texas stadium in 03. Its one of the only games I am missing from 2002 to today. I can not find anyone that has it and the clip of it that exists is from nfl films. I wish someone out there had this game to trade or copy for me.

Mixed feelings; I think it was clear to most the he was slowing down exponentially and it was time for him to step aside. That said, I'm sad to see him not ever experience a deep playoff run or Super Bowl appearance.

Maybe it's just being in the moment but I wouldn't mind him for one more run at it.
