Finally, when people think of the Vick-dog affair, they think of their own little puppy Spot, and wonder how anyone could do such things with such a "sweet, little and harmless" dog. No excuses for Vick, but THOSE dogs are not "sweet, little and harmless". THOSE dogs are born and bred to fight. Most dogs are like "Oh, he's such a nice man, and he has dogs". Other dogs are "Hey bro, watch out for Bubba, he's got DOGS!!!!" The police and military have "dogs" too, and they're not "sweet and cuddly" either.

Pit Bulls fight because that's what they are trained to do. They could be "sweet, little, and harmless" if people raise them like every other dog. The breed has a very bad rap, and it's not just because of people breeding them to fight. It's also because of the morons who buy them and encourage their violent behavior, either to use it as a guard dog or because they think having pits' makes them tough. A properly trained Pit Bull isn't really different than your puppy "spot".

Anyway, Vick did his crime, paid his time (in spades IMO), and YEAH, he should be forgiven. Because in our society, THAT'S the deal. Our legal system metes out the proper punishment for the said crime, and once that punishment is complete, our LAWS and LEGAL SYSTEM declare that person FREE to resume his life. If he's "physically" free from incarceration, the freedom from carrying the "scarlet letter" on his chest the rest of his days SHOULD go along with it. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't see it the way our Constitution see's it, and will forever assign that soul to a living hell the rest of his Earthly days.....................

That's not the way our society has ever worked. The greatest punishment anyone receives is being labeled a criminal in our system. The stigma follows people forever. Punishment the courts deal out are just arbitrary. Who can say that a crime equals a certain amount of time incarcerated? Once you're labeled a felon, it sticks with you for the rest of your life. Simply because someone is released, doesn't mean we all have to forgive them for what they have done. Playing in the NFL is not a right. Just because he gets out, his reinstatement should not be a given. He needs convince me that he's truly sorry for what he's done, and work to make-up for it. It takes a special kind of evil person to kill and torture dogs while risking millions of dollars to do so.

Yes there are cases when second chances should not apply.

Its pretty easy. Murder.... no second chance
Rape.... no second chance.
Didnt pay his taxes..... second chance.
Drowned, beating dogs to death, electrocuting animals.... no second chance...
Traffic Violations..... second chance.

He deserves the same second chance he gave the dogs that lost the fights.

At least no second chance to make the millions the NFL pays players.
The NFL is entertainment. He lost his right to entertain us when he made these decisions......

He didnt serve nearly enough time for what he did. Plaxico Burress is facing more time for shooting himself in the leg than Vick has to do for the way he treated these animals. Lets not forget what he did to them.

He can show how much talent he has by earning a living like the rest of us do.

A dog is a dog is a dog. He deserves to be punished if he were to do that. As a matter of fact, I might end up in jail myself if I happened to be around during said event. Yet still, life in prison? Cmon now. The guy has to be a little remorseful. (& no I am not here to apologize for Vick... just playing devil's advocate)
