So how did Merriman get suspended again? He was th league poster-boy for defense and the sack leader. Profiled on NFL Network and NFL.com - he was the heir apparent as the new LT and the nFL promoted him to the hilt.

the testing can be legit

it also can not be as stringent as many want to believe

it's weird that it took Merriman 2 years to get busted when he gained 70lbs. in a matter of weeks before he got drafted

No player is targeted unless they fail a prior test. Random test took out Merriman, it worked like it was supposed to...

I'm sure several players have dodged the random test. Looks like Izzo wasn't testing in 2003- no mystery there.

And the Pitts doc has said it was something else. Did he give it to players? Probably so, I don't have any proof, but again it depends on how the random test falls.

it's called random testing because the player doesn't know when, or where he's going to be called for it, and the selection is random
