Do you feel the NFL condones and looks the other way when it comes to this?
I feel that the NFL does have somewhat of an interest in allowing it to an extent. The league obviously benefits when its players are superhuman. However, the league is smart enough to test its players. They are covering their own arses by giving the test. They will never be called by congress and grilled the way baseball has been. I think the drug policy and testing procedures are needed. But i also feel that its primary goal is not to catch players taking steroids.
Lets not forget that steroids have been made into an evil cheaters drug by the media that will kill its users. The league has to stand against this. However, they will not start a drug testing procedure that would really catch all the players. And the Union would not allow them to do it either.
People still believe Lyle Alzado actually died from steroids. Forget that he developed a brain tumor. Meanwhile not 1 single case of brain tumor has ever been linked to steroid use.
i am not condoning steroids here. I just realize that they have been used by pro athletes for many years and always will be.
Heck if Peter Korda(skinny tennis player) was caught using steroids do you really think a 300 pound lineman who can bench 700 pounds isnt?
Any sport where size, speed, or strength help you will have steroids involved with them.
Wouldnt you take them if you knew you would make millions of dollars a year to play professional sports.
