The percentage win record from Europe will still be the best by far.
This game is a classic example of how in soccer even a weaker team can win. Get an early goal and put everyone behind the ball - Mexico were in a 6-3-1 for most of the 2nd half.
Germany also showed signs of panic - from early in the 2nd half. Best tactic would have been to keep their shape but increase the pace to tire the opposition - Real Madrid are masters at this.
You are posting complete goofball stuff.
You are seriously leading anyone to question your "football" acumen.
Germany lost because Mexico played much harder then when Mexico went into a defensive shell Germany couldn't hit a shot on target.
Pace was always going to favor the younger, faster Mexican team.
Germany needed to be far more technical and get shots on frame.
Germany has two concerns going forward. The defense looked slow and Muller is old. They need a 9 or 10 capable of scoring a goal per match on average.
Europe has the best teams in the world, but they send 13 (plus this year the Host for 14) and odds of them winning aren't exactly short.
The 6 team qualifying pools generally held 2 legit teams and 4 scrubs.
2nd place finishers had a home and way to qualify and given there are about 16 legit Euro teams you end up with 13 or 14 of them in each cycle.
A couple 2nd place finishers that lose the home and away can feel bummed for sure but like Italy if you fail to score in 2 matches versus Sweden were you really going to scare anyone?
The other round 2 losers: Ireland, Northern Ireland, Greece. None of those 3 would be favored to get through to round 2 of this WC.
