Worst call in NFL history Face Mask

Except that the rule doesn't say, if he really didn't mean it, it's 5 yards, if he did, its 15... The rule states that if he grasps the facemask, its 5 yards, if he twists the neck by the facemask, its 15. He did in fact twist his neck by the facemask, i dont care what his intentions were.

the facemask gets twisted on incidental facemask calls too! Kosier didn't jerk on the facemask!

Quit the whining. The facemask call was questionable, I've seen worse called for 5, I've seen less called for 15. Its a judgement call on the fly. Quit blaming a 2pt conversion for your loss. Bottom line is you all lost.

If you want to talk bad calls.

1. The numerous missed holding calls on your line, one on a td, one on a long pass to Crayton. (Actually Highlighted by Aikman on tve)

2. A terrible holding call on Fauria, he got knocked down and Ware tripps over him and they call holding? Nullifies a deep pass

3. Oh the 4 terrible play calls by our staff on the 1st drive of the game.

My point is you can go to a lot of plays, deciscions and ref calls that could have turned this game for either team. I don't know why more people arent' screaming at TO, he cost you all a chance to put the Skins away.

To me the only thing that matters is that Washington beat us. The only things that gives me comfort is there is little doubt in my mind that we are a better team than Washington. Considering how good I think the Cowboys actually are right now is not a good thing for the Skins.

Good post.....all truth. We lost, we are the better team, and Washington got lucky.

Now let's move on to next week. Lots of games to be played yet.

SO you say "quit the whining," then proceed to whine about calls that were against you...??

No contradiction there.

But what fun would this be if all we said was "we lost"??

What would we discuss?

I for one do not blame the refs for one second for our loss. We were able to do that all by ourselves.

However, having Skin fans come on a Cowboy board and tell us to quit whinning is a bit hypocritical. I have never seen a fan base blame more on the refs than Skin fans, not to mention your own coach.

Regardless, I think all complaining about officiating is not necessary. It is ok for Owens, Parcells, special teams, Roy Williams, and so on and so forth to blow a play or two but the Refs can not?

Anyway I suggest you read ES after a loss and then come talk about whinning and officiating.

So if he continued to hold onto until taylor stopped and stood there with his facemask in kosiers hands, its still not a 15 yard penalty until kosier actually pulls??? BS dude, stop making up parts of the rule that doesnt exist

Okay, i dont know how to explain it any easier to you guys. We all argee that he had his facemask, right??? Now the question is did he twist his head? Does anyone debate that Taylor's head was twisted?

There are two levels of severity for face mask penalties. One results from incidental grabbing of a face mask where it is immediately released, and results in a five-yard penalty. A major face mask foul usually results from a player grabbing an opponent by the face mask and using it to pull the player down or twist his head around and results in a 15-yard penalty and an automatic first down...

The ruling is even if you grab the facemask, that as long as you let it go immediatly and dont hold onto it and try to tackle with it, it usually is only a 5 yarder, which it should have been called in this case. I do have it Tivo'd, and have watched it a couple times. Taylor never even broke stride, and in regular speed it just looks like Kosier just swated at his facemask, which would also make his head turn for a split second.... Now if Kosier had held on Taylor would have at least slowed down a bit...

Love all these Foreskins fans coming out of the woodwork.

Where were they after week 2?

The bright side for Cowboys fans is that it took a fluke special teams play with an unusual rule interpretation AND an Owen's TD drop AND a Williams interception drop AND a lucky fluke bounce catch by Cooley off of Henry ... for the Commanders to beat the Cowboys.

It was an unlikely series of coincidences. Frustrating. But sometimes strange things just happen.

Oh trust me there is plenty to talk about. I just think officiating should be the least of our concerns.

I made a couple of posts after the week 2 game. But we only play you guys two weeks a year, so i only spend those two weeks during football season here.
