Would an offensive player be an option?

You go on a 10-play drive. Then you get to the Red Zone and take yourself out because you're gassed by the time you get there. It's either conditioning or wrong play calling. That's my point. Rod Smith obviously is not the answer for rotation

The problem with the redzone the last two years has been the Oline. IN 2016 Zeke was running it in no problem or Dak on a keeper and we have some younger redzone targets. Last year we had virtually no quality rezone targets. Not sure we have good ones this year either.

Then of course as you mention the playcalling is horrid.

I believe they didn't trim Prescott loose because they didn't want to expose the young defense. I think this team is exactly where they should be at this point in time. Youngest starting team in the league third-youngest overall. Make it to the second round of the playoffs. I couldn't ask for more right now.

I completely agree with you on the state of the team. I only wish they would move on from Garrett. That is the big missing piece.

As they have more weapons, sure up the line, Dak is developing, and they open up the offense, the passing game will begin to take on more of the load offensively. I think we will see the beginnings of a truly balanced offense this year.

This offense could use some juice and Jason Witten was not the piece we needed. If anything he'll slow the offense down.

La'el Collins has a year left on his deal and is coming off rotator cuff surgery.

Been saying don't be surprised if 58 is OT or TE......especially if Irv Smith is there.

I'm hoping Jason Witten becomes a Red Zone threat this season. I'm sure many disagree with me. But the man just has that knack for getting open.

If everything is picked over then why not pick a player that improves our passing game instead of a guy like Trysten Hill who is a reach.

Sternberger, Deebo Samuel, Parris Campbell..

Even an offensive tackle would be a nice pick for us and there is a few decent guys available.

Yes, but I hope not unless he is a top 30 pick that drops.

Dallas needs to be an elite defense if they expect to beat teams in the playoffs with a better guy at the QB position. I like Dak but he is not an elite QB and he needs a dominant defense.

I know some may disagree, but I think although we need upgrades in several areas, I don't think we are desperate so we can go the best player route including a WR. I like cooper, he will defintley get extended. I like gallup and I like cobb over Beasley, but Cobb is injury prone and short term solution, so perhaps another WR makes this team deeper and more dangerous...everyone points to TE, but I think between Jarwin and Schultz we are good not great and don't have to reach. I like an upgrade at DT, but FA signings addressed that. we mitigated the risk of Taco and perhaps he will get traded, who knows. but we shouldn't be in a hurry to trade him. back up RB is a need, but we can wait until later rounds....so to your point, why not a WR...

I think you can win at the highest of level with Dak as long as the supporting cast around him is elite and my fear is that his contract will decimate our team and he isn't good enough to carry a roster.

His contract could destroy this franchise.

Yah, but he was never a great redzone threat. For whatever reason.

Coaching staff needs better play calling down there.

I want the player with the best immediate impact potential and really don't care which side he comes from. However, if Lock were somehow to fall down to 58, I wouldn't have a problem with that providing they do not extend Prescott and let him play it out. Might be refreshing to see the FO play a little QB of their own in the negotiation.

I do see a RB taken tonight and it wouldn't surprise me to see that as the first pick. The team is at a crossroads with Elliott. Do they run the legs off of him, ala Murray, or put him on a pitch count, if they plan on keeping him, and put a 1A RB in there? The offense needs another receiving option out of the backfield and a back capable of taking over when Elliott gets injured.

Which is why safety is the top priority.

Any other position we draft probably won't start. Just be a backup this year and a starter next year.

Agreed. They can't pay him more than 25 per year.

As I said, I like Dak but he is a bus driver. He'll need a dominating defense to help him beat the Saints and Rams. Heck, even the Eagles.

Depends on whether there's a S better than what we have at 58.

I remember the game against the Eagles. Dak Prescott pulled a Tony Romo roll out. Hit Whitten in the end zone for a strike. I think Prescott like him down there LOL

I always believed in drafting most Worthy. Like Freddy Zack Martin. People are upset they took Freddy in the first thought he should have been a second. And Zack Martin everybody wanted defense that season. The Raiders drafted most worthy and so did the Giants last night. Sometimes it's about culture as much as Talent. My Philosophy draft for need you're probably going to get burned. Best available. What if you're overloaded at that position already. I want culture Talent need that order.

I'm happy Frederick worked out but we reached and we also traded down all the way to the back of the draft and only got a 3rd rounder for it.

I'm glad it worked out but I don't like the horrible compensation followed up with the reach pick.

I think there is an outside chance for offensive player however I think the pick will be safety of DT, given the players that were brought in and the fact many are still on the board I think odds of one of them being there at 58 is very good.

I think it's like 80% shot to take a corner. That's what I'm going with

Don't know if that was a reach. Rumor was that BAL was looking at him really hard so he might not have been available in the 2nd round and they had just concluded negotiations with Romo's agent and adding OL was a part of that, I believe. Booger's comments about Romo playing behind that OL brought that about.

They needed to add the best OL available and the inside info they had from the newly appointed HC at the Joneses alma mater made the Yosemite pick easy. He graded out as the smartest player in the draft and would also benefit Romo with the line calls.

I'm not sure if William McClay was involved in that draft. But what a difference he's made lately right

The Giants wanted him also I believe
