Would an offensive player be an option?

I remember the game against the Eagles. Dak Prescott pulled a Tony Romo roll out. Hit Whitten in the end zone for a strike. I think Prescott like him down there LOL

has Witten ever had a season of more then 6-8 TD's?

No I understand what you're saying. I just don't think Prescott have enough Seasons with him. It was Prescott that threw him his first ever playoff touchdown catch. I'm just a fan of mr. Cowboy Jason Witten and I will always wish him nothing but the best. But in reality I don't know what to expect from him. I don't see him an every-down player. So if they going to give him a roster spot I'm assuming LOL it'll be a red zone threat

I want the player with the best immediate impact potential and really don't care which side he comes from. However, if Lock were somehow to fall down to 58, I wouldn't have a problem with that providing they do not extend Prescott and let him play it out. Might be refreshing to see the FO play a little QB of their own in the negotiation.

I do see a RB taken tonight and it wouldn't surprise me to see that as the first pick. The team is at a crossroads with Elliott. Do they run the legs off of him, ala Murray, or put him on a pitch count, if they plan on keeping him, and put a 1A RB in there? The offense needs another receiving option out of the backfield and a back capable of taking over when Elliott gets injured.

I would have no problem whensoever with them taking Lock at 58. When and if Lock beats out Dak then we move on or trade him.

Why would we waste our first overall pick on a quarterback pretty when we have a solid quarterback now. You can steal a backup. That's my opinion. I would draft a quarterback every single season in the late rounds 6 or later. You never know what you're going to get Kurt put the draft one so early when you already have a winner doesn't work for me

I think it's like 80% shot to take a corner. That's what I'm going with

Maybe, I think more likely 3rd rd. I could see Dallas taking someone like Isaiah Johnson in the 3rd. He is a big and fast CB that would seem to fit in Richard secondary

When I say cornerback I'm including a safety. Maybe I shouldn't Define them all as the same.

Don't know if that was a reach. Rumor was that BAL was looking at him really hard so he might not have been available in the 2nd round and they had just concluded negotiations with Romo's agent and adding OL was a part of that, I believe. Booger's comments about Romo playing behind that OL brought that about.

They needed to add the best OL available and the inside info they had from the newly appointed HC at the Joneses alma mater made the Yosemite pick easy. He graded out as the smartest player in the draft and would also benefit Romo with the line calls.

Those rumors like that are usually just a way for them to justify a reach.

Kind of like Jaylon Smith.. Again.. Glad it worked out but we were competing against ourselves and took him with a high 2nd round pick and it started leaking that the Patriots would've taken him and then it came out afterwards they had no interest.

When teams do stupid stuff in the draft they always have the same reasons.. Some other team wanted him or we had him graded this high. blah blah blah.

Just say you liked the player and you reached for him. Be honest with the fan base and tell us why at the very least you didn't move back and acquire more picks and still select your reach.

Gotcha. I want to see them get a true safety not trying to covert. The board still has several top safeties out there and hopefully Cowboys will be able to get one

If a few of them are there you just have to pull the trigger. I don't want a reach at Safety or DT just because its need. I can't believe I just said that,Maturity is no fun. :(
You just described the textbook way to draft

I would never pass up on a QB that you thought could be a starter in this league. In any round. I am always about long term decision making. There should always be competition at the spot and like you said, worse comes to worse he could a great backup. Develop and trade the kid, whatever you want.

Usually, I would agree but they did have that connection to Yosemite through Brett Bielema, the new HC at AR, and I think it made Booger look good to Romo that he was keeping his word, even if he had to reach.

I do believe there was a verbal agreement about the OL as part of Romo's new deal and Yosemite was the first piece, followed by Martin in the next draft.

Depends on what they really feel is Prescott's future with the Cowboys. If they do not feel they can get him signed and will have to tag him for 28M next season, they might want some better options than Rush and White.

If they did take a QB with that pick or even more dramatic, trade up to get one, that would be the story of this draft. I do not see that happening but this is type stuff I think of when I am bored.

heck ya.i will take Smith,Risner and Little in a heart beat.

If everything is picked over then why not pick a player that improves our passing game instead of a guy like Trysten Hill who is a reach.

Sternberger, Deebo Samuel, Parris Campbell..

Even an offensive tackle would be a nice pick for us and there is a few decent guys available.

I'm starting to get that vibe as well....doing these day 2 mocks...I feel like the real value might be in a WR like a Hakeem Butler, WR, Iowa State or Miles Boykin, WR, Notre Dame .

Still though...I think there is going to be a safety there...maybe not the one we want (Thornhill)...but guys like

Taylor Rapp, SS, Washington
Deionte Thompson FS Alabama
Mike Edwards, SS, Kentucky
Jaquan Johnson FS Miami

I believe that's why most of us are even on this website. It's fun I think of a scenarios speculation. The problem is sometimes people get upset. When your scenarios don't match theirs. I'm from the old Cowboys forum. I totally agree with you I never judge. That's two separate statements LOL
