Would Kitna be a better option?

Even during the game last night, I was posting that if it did become a loss, it's not all on Romo...The D didn't do much to keep the Giants out of the endzone or moving the ball either...Particularly considering they did an effective job limiting the running game.

Still, I'm not sure how one can summarily label the criticism of Romo as knee jerk...Is this the first time this has happened?...It used to be that these sort of breakdowns would happen in December...This year, it's begun in September.

As Yakuza has also pointed out, at some point what you're seeing is what is reality - not fan fiction that he's 'great'....We've all seen the great moments from Romo but not in the big games and certainly not when we needed him too pull out wins

Romo is not a bad QB but he is definitely not great...Maybe he will be great one day but he may also be what we already see - wildly inconsistent...Tell me that many fans aren't thinking implosion as opposed to brilliance from Romo when it's a big game and it's tight?...Whatever percentages it may have been before last night, my guess is that it's certainly jumped higher now.

See you in December. I guess the Tampa game wasn't enough for you to see Romo has great potential if he's not already one of the great ones. But if you want to blame that game on Romo, go ahead. I recall the defense blowing the game in the final minutes, not Romo. It was them with something to play for. Romo didn't even have a chance and he couldn't help the poor time management by his OC and HC.

Yeah, write him off though. . . .

I posted similar comments about Romo's game after Tampa, as well...I pointed out that outside the 3 backbreaking pass plays (Plays where the secondary screwed the pooch), he had an average performance...I also pointed out how he never even saw open players, like Bennett...Nevermind the inability to loft a ball to a 6'7" receiver matched up against a 5'10" DB

If you're playing fantasy football, then perhaps his stats indicated he played great...I saw a QB that benefited from pretty poor breakdowns from the secondary and failed to visualize open receivers...Needless to say, the Tampa victory against a young and developing team was defined by 4 or 5 plays.

Placing the blame entirely/mostly on the D for that final drive would suggest that the 17 odd pts Romo was directly responsible for meant little...But seeing as points define victories/losses, it would seem bizarre to ignore it.

Offensively, apart from a bad penalty from Flo (Typical from him, right?) & a bizarre fumble from Felix, the only player who was failing to perform was Romo...His actions translated to pts.

Defensively, we all know there were problems and they certainly shoulder some of the blame but it would make little sense to defer the majority of the blame from Romo

The guy can sling it and knows RW like the back of his hand.He couldnt be any worse then Romo.

We could officially be known as "The New Detroit Lions" if that happens. We even seem to have the defense to match.

Yes, the secondary was bad, but the main reason the Giants were in the game was because of Romo...

Kitna knows RW better then anyone isn't a far fetch to say, he probably does. Romo is the QB for this team. He just need to get in sync with everyone. He seems like he is in his own world. I can't put my finger on it. He just seem lost last night. :(

No, Kitna is worse. Stick with Romo but stop babying his ***. He needs to get his nose to the grind stone. You don't embarrass the Boss by flopping all over his brand new toy with all those important people and 105K + people at home. How tiny must Jerry Jones have felt when he was eat'n his $1,000.00 serving of caviar after losing the opener?!!

This is ridiculous. Seriously Kitna over Romo? :banghead:

From some of the reactions on this board you would think that we lost a playoff game last night.

Its week two, chill out.

If we as Cowboys fans have learned anything over the last few seasons its that its not how you start, but how you finish.

if our defense was dominate and our running game was good as it was last night for the rest of the year... kitna could bus drive this thing better than tony could but alas, our defense is no where close to being dominate so we need a QB who can win us some games which Tony can, sigh.
